This was our second time here. Our 1st time was several months ago and it was overall a good experience. However, the 2nd visit was horrible. We ordered a Texas margaritas and an appetizer.. The young waitress said she had to wait on someone to make the margaritas. Not a problem. Appetizer over and ordered food. Still no drink. Not even a water. We asked once again about our drink. Finally it shows up. Well sort of. It was most definitely not a Texas margarita. The "bartender" came over and said oh...we call a Texas margarita a top shelve. Ok...not a problem. Round 2. We wait...and we wait...finally my husband called our waitress over and canceled the order. After it was canceled then the drinks still showed up. Once again...not sure what it was...but was horrible tasting. All of this would have been bad enough but the final straw in us saying never again was what we saw in the kitchen. We sat in a booth directly across from the kitchen. No door so we could see everything. They would bring a basket of chips from a table and empty them in the trash and then put the basket in a stack for refilling. WITH THE SAME PAPER IN THE BASKET AS BEFORE!! So my wife and myself decided we were going to enjoy the flavors of Mexico and have a great Friday night. Normally the service has been somewhat alright, just when we'd started to be pleased with the establishment; as always someone has to ruin everything. We didn't get to order anything, because as my wife attempted to place an order like everyone else that mattered in the building, our service was denied by a extremely rude,short statured woman, with black hair and glasses. She was smart with her saying very venomously:"Can't you see we're busy?So we're not taking the order." Best Mexican restaurant in Calhoun County! It is located right off of Hey 431 in Alexandria and worth the drive from Jacksonville, Anniston, Oxford! They have recently expanded to double their space and can accommodate large groups comfortably. Even when it is busy, it isn’t loud or noisy and you can have nice conversations without yelling. The decor is attractive and the entire restaurant is CLEAN! Their salsa is enjoyable without too much heat. I always order the chicken enchiladas verdes with extra sauce and leave full but never complaining I ate too much because the portions are perfect.
