Came for the coffee, stayed for the food. Such a great place to eat & have a coffee with your partner. The service/workers are always sweet and thoughtful, so that makes it even more worth the time. A smaller establishment, so there may or may not be a wait to eat, but the vibes make it really worth it. There are also outside seats, which generally don’t have any wait time. 2nd time coming, now it will officially become a staple for my family. (Ps, willing to drive 35 minutes from Brentwood to enjoy this place)

Alamo Cafe vibes are on point. Quaint, cozy, diner feel, great breakfast bar. Could stay in there all day. If you're feeling adventurous, I highly recommend the chicken fried steak breakfast burrito. It was mind blowing. The CFS is crispy, the eggs are fluffy and light, and it's all held together with beautifully melted cheese. Would also recommend the side of gravy to accompany the burrito.

If you are looking for breakfast or lunch and can make it to Alamo California (5 mins from Walnut Creek!), please do yourself a favor and try Alamo Cafe. It has been open since 1947 by the same family and from the food they serve to how they serve YOU, it’s sublime. My absolute favorite Philly Cheesesteak I have eaten in California has Garlic Parmesan Fries as an upgrade I totally suggest.

Moved to Alamo six months ago, found this place and I’ve been back at least twice a week for breakfast without fail. The food is great, very fresh and made to order - prices are super affordable. The cozy atmosphere is a throwback, employees and customers are all friendly and engaging.

Kim, the owner, has done a great job of honoring her family’s business. Been in the family for quite some time. If you’re in the area - please give them a try as you won’t be disappointed.

What do I get? I’ll tell you...

Breakfast Order - two eggs, bacon, sourdough, potatoes...the bacon is thick and ridiculously good

Lunch - just had a cheeseburger today, it was honestly one of the best burgers I’ve had in a very long time. Fries were on point as well

Thanks for the read - hopefully see you...

Huge mistake...I love homey small town diners but this place isn't that great...if you need to come here then avoid sitting at the table by the door, the cold hurricane force winds that come through the constantly opening and closing door will leave you with cold food, napkins flying off your table and people bumping into you as they come and go. Food is typical, nothing to rave about. The bathroom is way to difficult and inconvenient to get to, the angry cook has to move in order for you to get to it and he's not happy about it at all. Our group of 4 people arrived at 10am on Sunday with only a party of 2 people in front of us, great right? Wrong, seated at 10am and completed at 11:45am...almost 2 hours for eggs and bacon...and 8 cups of coffee while we...

Wow! Don't listen to whiners & haters in the negative reviews. This place is phenomenal - if you like a cozy little place with excellent, homey cooking. If you’re looking for a big-style restaurant experience, then do skip this very small space.

Best items are blueberry pancakes and their bacon. The 🥓 is far better than the many top breakfast spots I’ve tried throughout the Bay Area. Corned Beef IS very good and authentic - it's just thinly sliced rather than chunky, which is different. Eggs Benedict is great. We always get brunch so we don't know the lunch menu all that well. We come mid-morning so rarely have much of a wait. This place is old school, great breakfast dining so if that's your jam, check it out. Don't knock it for not being something other...
