Carl’s Jr. — Restaurant in Alaska

Let’s paint the scene.

Date night, baby is in bed, hanging out order DoorDash. Three California Classic double Cheese burgers. One without tomatoes. Simple. Very easy burgers. For starters the cheese is cold, the burger is cold. You can physically put your finger through the burger and not feel any heat. Cool. The thing that got me was after I was physically assaulted by someone’s hair in my throat and I called the store. Here’s the conversation verbatim.

“Carls Jr. Eagle River” “Hey, yeah I just order doordas-“ “Yeah, hey our tablet was down I apologize for the wait” “Yeah, uh no I was actually calling cause the burgers were cold and there was a hair in one of them” “Oh, sorry” “Yeah, a short black hair and I can pinky promise you it’s not my families.” “Well no one here has black hair” “Okay, well-“ “Yeah, ha it might have been my dogs, sorry. I can remake it though, what was your order?” “No, like not even remotely hungry anymore thank you. Just quality control man cmon”

Can’t make it up. After I hung up, sat literally flabbergasted and in silence with my partner as we were just utterly confused why someone would say and chuckle at the same time “hair from my dog but, I’ll remake it” in the same sentence we have a problem. I just...

There are no Carl's Jr (or their subsidiaries) near me in Ohio so I was not familiar with the menu. BOTH times the staff was patient, friendly, informative, and happy to share "personal favorites". The wait both times was a little long but on my first visit it was completely understandable. There was a festival and a fairly large marathon/running event that started directly across from the Carl's Jr store making them VERY busy. The manager (or supervisor) with short hair & suspenders was doing a EXCELLENT job of keeping the crew focused, motivated, and handling the situation. Combining the perfect amount of "carrot, stick" (all done kindly) to keep them on track. Food was fresh and great. So the missing star instead of five? Both times were busy and the wait (for mine not everyone) was long but I would have overlooked it but due to a impatient customer and the counter staff not paying more attention someone got my bag ($13.00+.) and I got someone else's bag with 4 kids burgers PLAIN and a small fry. 10+ miles down the road with no turn around + time already spent made going back a bad option. This locations restaurant management is against Christianity. Had a issue with my order in drive through, I had ordered a double thick original and did not thoroughly check my bag before I left the drive through. Get home and its only a single. The next day I went back to the restaurant and explained to the employees my issue. The employees were very understanding and were going to make me another single to make up for the loss of the double. Then their manager steps in and looks me up and down in my Christian apparel, gets mad and starts to ask questions after he just heard that his employees were going to make things right. Telling me I should have called, drove back 7 miles to argue their mistake and wanted to see the burger. Hanging me back the reciept and then encouraged me to go do a charge back at my bank. All with attitude accusing me of lieing. Just another way of them working their fraud to increase their gains in mistakes they knowingly made but won't fix. Think about it....
