Eagle River Town Square Park & Commons — Attraction in Alaska

We always have a good time here. Equipment to play on surrounded by astroturf, hills and flat paved surfaces for biking, skating, or walking, grassy hill for rolling down, tables for lunch. Half a star off for not enough parking,half off for days when camps bring a flock of kids and release them with effort to control them or make sure they are watching for littles-thankfully only a few times a month...

The best time to visit the town square is at night in the winter after the lights have been set up. Kind of cold, wear something warm, and bring some hot chocolate. There never seems to be any people there at night. Always seem to be some kids sledding on the hill. Can watch for entertainment or join them if you have...

Pretty park, with a large open area as well as a nice playground. It's a nice place to walk your dog, but beware of irresponsible jerks - there are a lot of poorly-trained off-leash dogs that poop everywhere and harass leashed dogs, and their owners are too lazy to control or clean up...
