Gallo's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Alaska

Just so you know getting a five-star review for me is very difficult. So if you've earned a four-star review count yourself lucky. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive. He answered all of my questions happily. He recommended an appetizer that was off the charts delicious! Highly recommend the tostaditos! Super delicious and huge! I also got the Tijuana taco which was pretty good but stuffed so full and so sloppy I couldn't eat it like a taco and had to eat it with a fork. I also ordered the fajita supreme with both steak and chicken. It was pretty delicious came out sizzling and amazing only thing is they forgot the mushrooms which was the reason why I got the supreme in the first place. However I didn't realize they forgot mushrooms until we were boxing things up to go. I'm sure they would have made it right if I would have said something. I did specify the ranchero beans versus the refried beans for the fajitas and they came out refried. But that's not a deal-breaker. I've been to gallos A few times before and they make excellent margaritas too. not this trip but on a previous trip I ordered the taquitos and they gave me the flautas instead only problem with this is that I'm allergic to gluten so I was not able to eat that. Bar review: if you’re not a regular (or a human), don’t bother. This last time ordered a disappointing margarita, then when I told one bartender I’d like another drink and a menu, took over 10 mins for him to tell another bartender what I wanted who I still had to flag down since he was busy chatting up the regulars (common occurrence if they don’t know you). Once served, was handed a crumpled used napkin with food stains and the taco shell disintegrated and had to eat with a fork (not unheard of but common Mexican food mistake when preparing). Once done, pushed my food with napkin on top and empty drink forward (typical “done” gesture) and the bugs flying around the bar took notice before any bartenders did.

We had the most terrible experience eating at gallows tonight off of arctic. This is the first time I've been to this restaurant and I have never had such terrible service they treated us like second-class citizens and I do believe it could have been because I'm black which is ridiculous because it's not 1960 anymore. They were terrible to us the restaurant was not very full and we were ignored to where we had to raise our hands to get somebody to come to the table to take our order and then once we did order and tried to get a margarita they would not serve my girlfriend because I had an expired ID which I've never heard of before.
