Was very excited to try, after seeing so many pictures in a local group. Went in with my best foodie friends and we selected to do the grill. It took about 15 min to get waters, and the restaurant was less than half full. (Staffing shortages right now) 22 min to have some one who asked us if we were ready to order. We pointed out that this was our 1st time having this type of experience. She showed us where we order for the grill section of the menu. The menu has everything PRICED at about $30 per person. (Sure fine it's Alaska). We order the beef and the pork belly, and the crab Rangoon. (Rangoons were delicious!) Our main dishes came out and our server pointed out that we cook it on the grill ourselves (this was part of what I had read and was excited about... however) we were given 2 sauces (olive oil with S&P, not so spicy red sauce) rice and veggies to go with it. But as it is our first time we don't know if we add these to the food on the grill. So we tried just cooking as we were told in our breif basic instruction, and it was bland. There's no offerings of spices to season or sauces (teriyaki, soy). Of coure the grill gets hot and has soaked up all the oil they put on the table prior to seating. So we pore the o,s&p mixture over everything but it wasn't enough (only about 1 tbs). It was pretty confusing to 2 people who work in the industry, and who also travel to enjoy cultures and foods from around the world. This went over our heads. Found it completely underwhelming and overpriced. It felt just... BASIC overall. We even asked our server an discussed our process a couple of times to be told "you're doing it perfect!" May try the hotpot another time but currently dissatisfied enough that it's likely a no on a returning even if it was my...

This place is awesome! After seeing a video of a hot pot place about a year ago, we made it a point to make sure we tried it when we would get the chance. After trying an Uber fancy hot pot restaurant in Vegas (min 200$ pp), it’s place is amazing and super reasonable (about 105$ for the two of us with extras and drinks). This is exactly something that AK needed. The portion was huge and definitely more than I could have ate in one sitting. I was stuffed leaving lol. We can’t wait to try the grill side next time! That sounds like something that might be fun for a small group of about 4. I would suggest getting there early as we got there around 430 after reading reviews and waited to see if it quickly got packed before opening and decided to run a quick errand before the 5pm opening, after returning not even a half hour later, it was clear it most definitely is a popular place! Luckily on this Tuesday night we were seated right away and served promptly! All of the staff is super attentive and kind. if you’re unsure about the broth choices, milky bone is a safe and delicious bet! I got the milky bone + assorted meat combo+ scallops friend got Thai Tom yum (like hot and sour soup) broth+assorted meat combo+ quail eggs+chicken...

UPDATE: I am not sure, if I still would recommend it. Last time we were there they were sloppy and prices has gone significantly up. The first review was written when they had first opened. It is sad to think that a place with such great potential would try to do their best just in the beginning, but not keep it continuously good service and food :(

Alaska needs more places like this!!! My fiancè, a friend and I just drove pass it and decided to try it for the first time! What an awesome experience and good surprise. Not only the food tastes good, it is well prepared, but also the service is excellent! I am super picky with quality food, specially, asian and Yakishabu went beyond my expectations :) Big thank’s to Carter and Tony that took their time to explain everything patiently and even talk about different food and ways of trying it - thank you guys! They know their stuff and know how to deliver it. It looks like the house is busy… well, it worths the wait. We tried in the Grill Table: Pork Combo, Angus Beef Combo, Shrimp Yaki Udon and their Mix Tempura (all...

Let's break this down now. My partner in adventures and I were torn on how to rate this facility. I know that many people mix all the Asian cultures together and this restaurant does the same. Maybe to appeal to Americans? Overall it's a good Asian vibe. Whether it's Korean, Japanese, or something Else is hard to tell. Loved the music and the color palette. Service was excellent. Waitress was polite and concise. Food was good. We loved the chef specialty sushi appetizer. The octopus balls were small and lacking. The vagas roll's tuna was tough, but artful Crafted. The tempura was thin and perfectly cooked with just the right balance of sauces. We very much enjoyed all the sushi here. As for the shabu, the meat and veggies were fresh. We wanted thicker broth. Also the dipping sauces were an odd mix. Putting that Korean spin on shabu. I loved it, my partner was a little picker. Overall we will certainly eat here again.
