I rarely bad leave reviews. But just want to give a heads up this place might not merit the good ratings it has anymore. My experience was mediocre. The tuna on my first roll had a taste of refrigerator. But I was starving so I put up with it. I wanted to order a small non fish dish additionally, when I settled on one they said it was for kids only. I laughed and thought they were joking but they were serious (the menu said nothing about being for kids). Maybe they wanted a bigger order because the place was empty and wanted more profit. I insisted and the lady said the kitchen didn't allow it. Fine, I ordered another roll and it was fine. Then I ordered a third and when it came it was half the portion. Ironically, like a kids meal. On top of that it was sloppy, done with zero effort. See the picture, I hadn't even touched it. Maybe they were running out of ingredients, or they dropped it, who knows regardless I decided to draw the line there. I said I didn't want it and the lady looked surprised and said that's what it's supposed to be like. I respectfully insisted and she finally took it back as the sushi cook was chatting away with his buddy. I'd expect a little more effort specially during off peak hours while the place was empty. Sushi Garden might be a better...
Read moreI called because I was craving Raman. When they answered, the lady could barely hear me or understand me. I asked if they had Raman. She said yes, miso Raman. My favorite Raman is tonkotsu Raman, so I followed to ask if they had tonkotsu raman. The lady didn’t hear me so I repeated it 3 times. She then responded with a yes. I said how much is tonkotsu Raman? She then said $15 it will be done in 20 min. So when I got there I said I’m here to pick up my Raman, the lady at the front seemed confused and said there isn’t a order for Raman. So I said my name and she said that’s tonkatsu. I said, yes! My Raman. She was polite and said they didn’t have it they made pork katsu. Me being upset I then asked if they could make miso Raman. They seemed upset I wasn’t getting the katsu and I was in a hurry so I felt urged to buy and pursued to buy the katsu so I said whatever I’ll get it. When I got home it wasn’t even pork katsu, it’s chicken. Also it came with A1 sauce. Seems a bit strange for katsu. I won’t ever be going to this place again. If I could put less than 1...
Read moreQuality vs Price is what has me coming back to this place. In Anchorage everything is expensive and sometimes not worth it but Ichiban has me coming back many times because I find the quality to be decent and the price to be ok. The service has always been good and full of smiles. One of my complaints is that on some items the price in the menu doesn't reflect the actual price and this is one of those little things that become huge in my head. I really dislike that however with that said the prices are still kinda fair. It's one of the cheaper places for sushi in town that still could be considered quality and with sushi the quality has to be at least good. I feel like if the nigiri was cut a little better it would raise the bar also If there were more rolls without fake crab (Another thing I find deplorable). With all that said I still enjoyed every one of my visits and hope for their continued success and...
