Pizza King — Restaurant in Alaska

Although the item we received was not what we ordered, or what we were looking forward to, my family and I enjoyed the pizza. The crust was tasty, just not as light or soft as a pan piazza is. The sauce, cheese and other ingredients were of really good quality and wtheycdidnt skimp on the toppings. Overall it was a tasty pizza. However it was a bit expensive. When I called and spoke with the order taker by phone she either lied or didnt listen to what I was asking her when I called to make the order. We didn't want to have to run in to Wasilla to get dinner, so while checking online for options I found a menu for Pizza King that had their name, address and ph# on it and it said they did pan pizza's. I called and spoke with the girl who answered the phone. I let her know that I saw their ad online and it says you do pan pizza's, is that correct? I was told yes. I asked what size they were and was told they have three sizes. I ordered a large pan pizza w/ground beef and green peppers. My husband went and picked it up and brought it home. I opened the box to find it was a regular large pizza. I called them back, told her what I received and she said, yes, that's the only style we have. When I said I had asked about a pan pizza when I called about the ad, she said, oh that's not us, someone took our name and info and posted it online. So I figure she wasn't listening when I first talked with her about the Pan pizza's specifically. Not thrilled with that, but they get the 3 stars because the pizza...

I have been buying pizza from your family since my daughter was 2. She is now 8. You have always been so nice. However tonight the man who took our order gave it to you wrong. I know this because we asked for extra cheese and you told my husband that you made it regular. But next time you would make it extra...? I had my husband call you because he is so much nicer than me. I cannot believe how you acted. First you don't offer to fix the BURNT DRY NO CHEESE PIZZA THAT WAS ALMOST 30$. You tell my husband that you will give us 5$ credit...? Than when you finally agree to exchange our pizza you say we can't eat more than 2 slices....?! You show up at our house and can't even look my husband in the eye. You can't even appoligize. You tell him rudly we ate 3 out of 8. Well sir let me tell you I threw my piece away because it was so gross. I appreciate the fact that you gave us a new pizza. I do not however appreciate we had to beg for it. Or that you didn't appoligize. Or that you made my husband sound like a bad person because you thought 3 pieces were missing. And you sir have lost our every other...

I couldn’t sit back in silence. My wife and I live in the neighborhood and have LOVED Pizza King as our local spot for 4 years. Was intrigued by the ownership change. Just had the Greek spinach pizza (one of our go-to’s) and the entire pizza is completely different. Said to my wife “What’s Greek about this?” Previous pizza had olives at least. Maybe there was feta on it? Couldn’t tell. Whole thing was flavorless.

We’ve always raved about how good the crust was…and now? It’s like eating flavorless pie crust. Pizza dough is flour, salt, water, yeast and time. There’s no salt in this; at least, none that provides any sense of flavor. Someone thought they would get a “buttery” crust by including butter in the dough and what they got was a flaky pie crust. Great for Thanksgiving and streusel, not for mozzarella and red pepper flakes.

A large, flavorless pizza and a salad for $50? Not even delivered? Not worth going back again. We’ll miss...
