Uncle Joe's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Alaska

Edit #2: As I thought about this I realized that you are happy that your store is ripping people off completely, that they are charging $4.99 per half quart of ranch, when the 1.25 Quart of Hidden Valley averages the same price, so you are charging double what it costs. The price per half quart is worth it when it is the actual ranch from Uncle Joe's not store bought that most people already have. Not to mention the simple fact that there was never even anything said about, just tried to pass it off after making us wait almost a half hour and then when called out on it you just act indifferent. Yea I will make sure everyone knows what sort of place Uncles Joe's is, that much you can be certain of.

Edit: Faith lost, clearly do not care about the issue. No worries though, plenty of other pizza places in Anchorage, Uncle Joes will not have my family's business again.

The one star rating has nothing to do with the pizza, which is delicious as always, we have never not been satisfied by the pizza. This review centers around ranch, the very delicious ranch that they have here. Tonight I ordered some for our dinner, all was well until the delivery driver did not drop it off, when I called I was told that he probably just had it in the car and he would be right back (he delivered it to the house before ours, they didnt order ranch). 25 minutes later he comes back and finally gives us the ranch, no harm no foul right? wrong, one taste and we realized this was not the normal ranch, but more like the Hidden Valley we had in the fridge (it was hidden valley). I decided to call the manager and see if maybe I was mistaken and they had just changed it, and was basically met with indifference about it. Told that they "use hidden valley in their ranch anyway" and basically the manager that was on duty is the one that told the driver to just bring back hidden valley since they had ran out for the night. No phone call to say anything to me about it or ask if that was ok, just pass it off as their ranch and hope no one notices. The manager did refund the cost of the ranch, but it is the fact that she didnt even care that really bothered me. Today, I ordered two 12” pizzas and 1 diet soda. I don’t usually partake in soda beverages but when I do it’s once in a blue moon and I typically get diet. This is because I am a diabetic so for me, having something that’s close to what I wish I could have is an absolute treat. One pizza was for my boyfriend; regular pepperoni and mushroom. For me, I ordered a plain pepperoni but with their cauliflower crust. Both very delicious and I have always recommend them to our friends because their pizzas are delicious. Now, circling back to me ordering a diet soda… I know this part may seem like I’m making a big deal out of nothing but hence why I made the statement that even something as simple as a diet soda is a treat for me. When we received the order, the pizzas were still hot and fresh which is perfect. However, we got a regular soda instead of diet. I wasn’t the one who answered the door so my boyfriend wasn’t quick to pushback the service. Realizing this once the items were placed in our dining room, I obviously checked the receipt. They recorded it as I requested but what I’m annoyed about is not receiving what I ordered and it just tarnishes my previously positive reviews. One may think this is over the top but for someone like me who takes ordering out very seriously, I believe my upset is valid. We do not order out very often. When we do, it’s usually because I’m exhausted. Anyway, I called the pizzeria and expressed my concern and was told a manager would be taking care of it. I even told them they can charge me for an additional beverage and I was already planning on tipping the driver again. But, an hour and a half goes by. At this point, I’m angry about two things: not getting what I ordered and not getting a follow up. If this is how we treat customers who support local, then I absolutely hope this doesn’t happen further and to other customers. Especially when you’re paying almost 50 bucks for two 12” pizzas. Some people would let a diet soda go…. And then there are some who care about principal and going the extra mile in making a negative experience into a positive one which unfortunately...

I have to premise this by stating we started our night next door at the Thai Food place but after not having anyone take are order for 20min or bring us water, we left and decided to try Uncle Joe's.

The guy behind the counter did not greet us, did not acknowledge us and was to busy counting money to even care we were there. We didnt mind, looked at the menu decided what we wanted to eat/drink and stood their and waited. After a few minutes he finally took our order. Mozzarella sticks and a small super combo pizza. We sat down to a dirty table/chairs and waited.

The guy brought us our drinks but then we waited. We sat down at 6PM and did not get our first food until 6:40... He then brought us the wrong food, instead of the Mozzarella sticks he brought cheese bread and then argued with me about what we ordered. Finally he admitted he lost our ticket which is why it took so long for us to get our food.

He then brought us half cooked mozzarella sticks. They werent fully cooked and werent warm, it was very disappointing. Finally our pizza arrived and that was the best part of the whole experience.

There pizza is fantastic, lots of generous toppings, great taste, not too greasy and the crust is fantastic. THE SERVICE SUCKS. Hopefully you are going for the pizza not for something speedy and reliable. If it were my pizza place, the guy at the counter would be fired for being on his phone interacting with kids at a table instead of worrying about customers. Pretty disappointing service.
