Well how do I begin ..our server today was the absolutely the RUDEST person I have ever had the displeasure to meet ..when I came in to meet my mother in law and wife for lunch this afternoon the hostess was very nice ,greeting was great ,took me right too the table where my guests were seated..and handed us off to our waiter.he came out asked what I would like , a cup of your good coffee i said and off he went to the kitchen..."there were only four or five tables with patrons " and he waited several minutes until there food was ready, they had ordered ahead of me ..and when there food was ready he brought me my coffee,I had asked for cream and sweetener when I ordered..he apologized said he would be right out with it and disappeared..so I asked another server and she promptly brought it out .waiting for my meal I had tried to get a refill and was ignored so I went over to the kitchen door and asked with cup in hand . He got very rude as if i were putting him out..by that time my food was coming out he poured the coffee rudely and charged past me ordering me to go back to my seat , told the young man that in all my years of coming to my favorite restaurant that I have never been treated like this..he turned and said I don't serve your kind .. I am an over 55 retired person ....he laughed ...and became even ruder .. next thing I was being throw out told to leave right now .I said that I would be happy to go and asked another server to find the manager she quietly said he was the manager..our server that was the worst I have ever been treated in my life ..I have never been talked at like that ever. When I said that I have been a long time customer, that our family's have rented there banquet room on many ,many occasions he riley said never again that we had seen the last of that room ..that he was the manager of all banquet meetings and that our family's would not be renting it again ever... then he said that we could leave immediately. Throwing to go trays at us ..then the fun really began he hostess to call the police I told him that since I'm retired I would love to talk to them as well. Payed for a lunch I didn't even finish ...and waited to be told that after giving my statement that there was now a no trespass order but that no crime had been commited..and to contact his boss later by phone...and here I am leaving a review that I never in my life have written before ..one bad apple doesn't spoil the cart but this young man will dump it on you to make himself feel better.. now I I have to find a new favorite place because of one really terrible guy..very sad for our family and theirs ..but Rudeness doesn't keep customers coming back and from the emptiness of what used to be a very busy restaurant I can say that he has been very busy running descent people away ...his words " he could care less ' my words ' I hope your fired because treating people badly is never a good thing ...and he laughed some more ... his name " daniel " the manager??? Me a very shocked customer of many years ....I sincerely hope you read this and take action in firing your most powerful deterrent to your business. And if you do I'll be happy to come back ??? Let me...

Three days before Thanksgiving we were looking for a restaurant to eat at with my parents and stumbled upon the Cascade Grill. Checking their online menu I discovered they offered a variety of seafood and actually served a turkey dinner on their regular menu! I immediately knew this was the place for us.
On Thanksgiving we all (including my service dog) got there just as they opened and were seated immediately. We were given our drinks quickly then allowed extra time to order without feeling rushed. A bread basket and our salads and soup arrived within minutes of placing the order. Just as we finished them the entrees arrived and they were piping hot. My dad and I had the Seafood Platter: Lightly fried shrimp, cod, clams and oysters served with soup or salad and your choice of one of their numerous sides. It was a HUGE meal that was absolutely sensational! My husband went with the Holiday Ham Special with loaded baked potato soup (which he highly recommends), three thick slices of hams, garlic mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables and pumpkin pie. My mom had fish and chips with a penne pasta instead of chips. The pasta was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. It was creamy and buttery but not to heavy (I know because I got to steal a taste 😋).
Our waiter Daniel, who is actually the assistant manager, provided us with superb service from when we sat down to when we departed. We never lacked for anything yet at the same time we didn't feel smothered, rushed or hurried. Even as we visited and drank coffee after we finished our meal for about 15 minutes.
This was our first time at the Cascade Grill and it was definitely the first of many visits. This place has large windows which let in lots of light, soft music playing quietly in the background and comfortable highbacked booths which help develop a relaxed atmosphere that is often missing in so many of today's restaurants. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who wants to enjoy a quality dining experience and not spending a fortune. Be it with your family, on your own, with that special someone or a group in a private setting!
P.S - For those who like to enjoy their meals while watching TV the Cascade Grill also...
Read morePoor service killed what should have been a good experience. We had a group of 9 on 02/21/20 and it was for my sister in law's birthday. We made a reservation. We all arrived at the same time, and were immediately seated. Good so far... We were served water and had a chance to read through the menu. We ordered drinks (a few beers, 2-cocktails and a couple of sodas as well as three appetizers). We received the appetizers first. Then the sodas, then the alcoholic beverages. This seemed odd to me as I would have expected drinks first, then food. Next, the server came and took our dinner orders and most of us ordered soup with dinner. When the soup came, several of the drinks were gone, some of the water was out and the soup was not very warm. The server did not come to refill the water or even to take a second drink order. When dinner arrived, a few of the plates were really hot and a few were not. I got a rib eye, medium rare. The steak was lukewarm but the plate was hot. Before I even took a bite, I asked the server to warm it up. Se sent it back and came about 5 minutes later it was hot this time but the steak was very tough. The flavor was good but I have a feeling the second warm up toughened the meat. Generally, everyone enjoyed their food but we never did get a second drink order or get a water refill. At the end, we realized that every table around us had been offered what looked like bread upon being seated. We never got that. So, for all nine of us, I don't think we will be back and we all live in Albany. The server was either overwhelmed or something is wrong with the process flow to where the timing of everything was just off. We spent around $30-35 per person but that could have easily been $45-50 if the server had been more attentive...
