While visiting mother in law in Albany, Indiana our only lunch choice other than a McD was Pizza King. This was kismet for us to continue our pizza quest . An iconic Indiana restaurant chain founded in 1956 in Lafayette , IN. with its own unique take on pizza . The quality ingredients, flavor profile, square cut pieces and crunch crust are all still there. A real treat since we had not had Pizza King for years . The Royal pizza with its finely ground sausage, tomato sauce with chunks, finely chopped onion And green peppers with the perfectly melted mozzarella. All sprinkled with their secret ingredient Italian spice blend. Took us back 20 years or more and the pizza hasn't changed, thankfully. We also sampled the hot ham and cheese with cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a delightful warm and soft hoagie bun. Lastly we also tried the chicken fingers and fries. Large tenders, perfectly seasoned and moist inside. All in all a great time in revisiting an icon we've had clear back in the 1970's originally. ...
Read moreThe food is always great! Service, however, not so much. 😕 My husband called in an order for delivery at 5:30 this evening... he was given a total but no estimated time. (We don’t typically order for delivery so I’m honestly not positive if they normally give a time or not.... I do know that when you order for pickup our wait time has never been more that 15-20 minutes.) At 6:30, AN HOUR after he placed our order, he called to see where our food was. He was told that they were very busy and our food was just now being cooked. He was never offered an apology and when he asked if they had an ETA the lady hung up... mind you, we have 2 young kids that are hungry and we ended up feeding something else before our pizza even arrived. An hour and a half after our order was placed, the delivery driver showed up with our food... however, we still received no apology for our food...
Read moreI was super hungry that's why I ate everything on my plate, until then spaghetti sauce and noodles were bland, garlic bread was somewhat decent, breadsticks were hot, but, bland as well,the dessert cookie was good, even though it tasted like the toll house tube cookie you get from the grocery store,at least my boyfriend enjoyed his pizza, the only thing that came out of this was the awesome service and the cookie, and it still was not worth $49 update Went back to try the pizza and it was good, but, everything else,...
