Waffle House — Restaurant in Albany

The waffle house in East Albany was a horrible experience. I would rate it at a 0 if I could. I attempted to call my order in on the way to the diner. There was no answer. I arrived at the business less than 5 minutes later to see 5 employees standing outside smoking and goofing off. None of the employees budged to go inside. Not only were they loud but they were crowding around the entrance. I go in and 3 more employees were inside. Not 1 single customer was in the building. I placed my order of 1 patty melt with bacon meal and a patty melt on white bread meal. As they were cooking my meal I walked outside and the 5 employees were laughing and talking about their friends. 2 of the employees were discussing who their friends were having sex with while I was at my car. I was only 1 parking space away from these employees. They were using a lot of cuss words, including the F word over and over again. 2 of the employees were sitting on the concrete. I had to step over the employees to get back inside. When I got home with my order I was very disappointed. My patty melt on white bread was actually a bacon cheeseburger on a piece of white bread. The bacon was not cooked thoroughly. The bread was not toasted and immediately fell apart. The cheese was not melted and my hash browns were not done. They were still cold. For a $10 meal I was very disappointed. I would not recommend this waffle house to anyone! I will go to 3 squares...

As soon as I walked in the door everyone greeted me with a friendly hello. However, after I sat down I recognized some commotion at the other end of the counter. Apparently, "Ashley" said that she liked my glasses at the time everyone was greeting me and was carrying on about how I didn't respond to her. Even after having ordered my drink and receiving a menu from a girl that by the way was scratching and patting her head the whole time I could still hear the girl ranting on about my glasses and everyone laughing at her ignorance and carrying on with her. I paid for my drink and left. I have never had such a horrible experience at a restaurant. Who would want to eat somewhere where others critisize them publicly for something so trivial. It was disrespectful, childish, and highly unprofessional. I saw her just long enough to get her name off of her shirt for this review. I really wish I could give this restaurant a star greater than one. However I cannot. It was about 3:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning when I visited this particular Waffle House as I have eaten at this restaurant chain for many years. I walked in and all but what appeared to be 2 tables were dirty. The staff reported that they had "just had a rush". I sat at a booth near the window and noticed 2 black ants crawling on the table. So I moved to the counter and reported to the staff about the ants. This wasn't enough to deter me from eating here. The young waitress wiped the counter area which I was sitting. I placed my order, and the cook began to cook it. As my order was cooking I saw a small black german roach crawl across the counter. At that point I informed my waitress of the sighting.
