La Fuente Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Albany

There are a couple of little Mexican places on the East Side, but this is the place we normally go to. It almost always has good food and the building itself has housed Mexican restaurants for years.

If you're looking for a decent experience, then this is your choice on this side of town. However, if you're not in a hurry I would suggest going to the west side of town to get food. El Vaquero or Los Vaqueros or even El Maya (much more expensive usually) are typically better choices for food.

However, I will say that if you are looking to drink, then this place is great. I've never gotten a margarita here that left me wanting. They pack it with tequila every time it seems. That contrasts with places like Smoke & Fire, where the last few times I ordered a margarita I had to ask my wife if I ordered a virgin and...

I called into this restaurant last night around 6-7PM & I spoke to an employee, who told me to come in around 11:30, the following morning to fill out an application and speak to him about the available positions. I did that the next morning. However, upon entering the restaurant... a man (I’m assuming the manager) spoke to me from across the restaurant & told me there aren’t any applications (without even moving from his booth). I know he told me I could come in because I sound like a non-African American woman over the phone and was probably flabbergasted at the sight of my darker skin complexion. First off, I've been coming here for almost 20 years, so I may be a bit biased, but remember, 20 years of customer loyalty to a small business means something. This is a family owned and run business. They have always treated me and my guests like extended favorite family. Their food has always been top notch, and an excellent value for the money. There's a reason I keep coming back again and again. The margaritas are well made, and they don't cheap out on ingredients or portions.
