4th update 5/24. Well I finally gave up on this dump after the manager became hostile toward me. I threw my food in the trash and left. I don't understand why getting a biscuit to go can be so complicated and difficult. I suppose anyone can have a bad day, but me ordering food shouldnt be the reason. So, if you decide to dine here, lower your expectations first or go through the drive-thru. One of the worst Bojangles stores. 3rd update 6/23: This facility is worse than ever. The food is still fair but you might not want to eat it in this nasty, run down place. It's enough to turn off your appetite. Take a look at the photos. The chair back are so sticky they stick yo your clothing. The cracks in the chair bottoms collect food debris. The counters are worn, the walls crooked, the tiles greasy.... and the restroom is beyond nasty. This restaurant should be condemned. 2nd Update 4/23: post-COVID, it's better, but not great. The food is good most days. The restaurant facility is run down. Restrooms are frequently untidy and small. Tables, chairs, carpet,... is worn. Albemarle deserves a nicer facility like the newer Bojangles Restaurants. The manager and staff are usually friendly and accommodating. Kudos to them. The menu is fried chicken and biscuits with a few sides. Cajun pintos are pretty good. The dirty rice gets soggy. The biscuits are great most times. No one fries better chicken these days. Notice - The prices have rapidly increased. Expect to pay $10-$15 for lunch or dinner, sometimes more. Breakfast is more than $5 for a biscuit and coffee. Be careful when ordering. The menu can be tricky which may end up costing you more...
Read moreThis was my wife's experience yesterday:
I pulled up to place my order at Bojangles, and it was an automated system taking my order. I asked to speak to an employee, and when one came to the microphone, I then placed my order. She was very rude, I said thank you twice, and she never responded. So I pulled up to the window, and the still very clearly irritated young lady wouldn't take my card. I held it out there for her for quite a while and finally brought my hand back in my window. She was standing there with the window open, fiddling with something as to look busy. I spoke to her and said, "I'm trying to hand you my card." She said,"I'll get it in a minute", so I waited until she was ready. She then pushed my drink out to me and gave my card back with no receipt. Then, promptly slammed the window in my face. I sat there in shock because of the rudeness I had just endured. I waited at the closed window for longer than I ever should have, for her to give me a straw. She never came back so I tooted my horn and she screamed at the other employees standing there "why she still sitting there?" She opened the window in a huff and I said "I didn't receive my straw". She all but threw one at me and slammed the window on me again. My husband called the store to speak to the manager and she said to another manager, "we have ANOTHER complaint". All we were told is that she would talk to her, they wouldn't tell us her name, and I wasn't given a receipt, so we have no way of knowing this person's name. She was a young African-American girl with long braids, we will be in contact with corporate and maybe they can identify her at the...
Read moreThe drive through was wrapped around the building so I went inside to order. Mistake!! The inside was ignored until the whole drive through was completely taken care of, then some one who was not trained or was totally incompetent came to the register to wait on us. After repeatedly giving my order 4 times he still got it wrong causing me to be over charged and ending up with food I didn't want or need. But because I had already been there so long and the line had grown inside at this point, I just told the server filling my order to let it go. It wasn't worth making the other folks wait longer and he was struggling trying to take the man's order behind me even after my order was filled and I was leaving. I felt bad for the rest of the customers and the poor man who obviously couldn't do this job. My biscuit was not that good after the long wait as well. It was a strange combination of being hard on the outside and tasting as though it wasn't cooked properly on the inside. The ham was over cooked to the point that I could hardly chew it, while the bo rounds tasted like old grease and were undercooked. I will say they were very busy and everyone was working to fill the drive in orders and one inside order that had a few orders for one man. But it was 8:30 am, most places are busy so you should...
