Horrible experience and too late at night and a hr drive for a sour trip just walking into the door to be greeted with hostility. Went there to relieve stress and got met with Karen who lived up to the name. She refused to let me workout due to a balance she felt I couldnāt pay due to PF not drafting as they should but then she saw they actually drafted for the current month. I got too disgusted with her behavior and holding me up I no longer wanted to workout but walked off and went to the car to get my card and paid it. Took it back in to show her bc she acted like one payment was the end of the world and gonna close the gym down. I told her she didnāt have to act like that because itās paid and had I known wouldāve been paid for it but it was PF fault. She had a condescending attitude and probably racial motivated to turn me away. She didnāt stop anyone else, run through their account or even check to see if they had any payments. And oh no late fees was bc it wasnāt my fault as I tried to tell her who mentioned me not having the funds. Karen is the assistant mamagerās name who was refusing me service and had poor customer service. Never have I been turned away bc of $25 that was paid immediately after I went to get my card. This is who they have in charge then I see why they donāt have more people coming but leaving to go to another location. I will stick with Monroe or just discontinue my membership! Wrong leaders take their job way too serious. Funny thing is donāt people due to a balance especially when they didnāt know as the funds was their and paid instantly. Better places to workout...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent on Nov 24th and my son and I had no issues. Next day manager informed me that I had to wear a mask while actively working out. When I stated that I had a letter from the VA Medical Center that showed that I had a valid medical exemption that I could not wear a mask when working out ,she refused to let me enter the gym. I am a black card member and was visiting from out of state. I have only had problem at one other PF and that was in Georgia and I didn't have the letter with me. This time I did have the letter with me. Even with my condition I respect others when I enter the doors and when not working out just to avoid unnecessary problems and to help do my part. However, when PF Albemarle has 3 to 5 members in building I feel pretty confident that my ability to maintain a safe distance outweighed risk to myself from my health condition. The manager seemed to be very rude in her manner and this was appalling. If I could have given no stars as an option, then I would have due to this issue.
Dear Owner, Corporate is no help. But know you do have ability to accept those with medical exception to the mask mandate. I am now in Alabama and the PF here uses common sense and accepts medical exemption. And they also still understand that t those whom are exercising don't need to wear mask unless they are altitude training. Way to pass the buck owner and fail miserably. I have already seen member leaving your store and headed to Golds due to your standards...

Was having a great summer back from college working out with my family until staff member( tall, dark hair, works in the mornings, appears to be in her early 50s) became a recurrent issue. What started out as observed PDA with a male member of the gym being brought to her attention became harassment and poor customer service/conduct. When discussing the inappropriate behavior with her she laughed in my face. I contacted the club to file a complaint with dates and times that these interactions would appear on the cameras and never received a direct reply. She then very blatantly has ignored me and my family, denied tanning services, refused to come to the reception desk when we were there, and has only been rude when forced to interact with me or my family. Disappointed in the lack of action from both managers and Planet Fitness for not taking customers...
