This place is great! Honestly I wish people understood that msg is not harmful. Apparently they don’t use it in most of their dishes which is a shame. The msg slander comes from racist ideas, and it tastes so good and is perfectly safe! People who complain about headaches are just lying! Placebo effect (I am white so hopefully other white people will research and consider this)! It’s in every piece of chicken you eat. It’s just a delicious seasoning that occurs naturally in your own body! Anyways this place offers great ramen and their appetizers are awesome too. The service is great, the food is amazing, and you can tell they put care into their dishes. I recommend the kimchi ramen meal and takoyaki appetizer.. I do wish they offered both halves of the egg in their ramen bowls and the upcharge seems a bit much for 2 halves of an ajitama (ramen egg). Also I wish they had rolled pork belly instead of thinly sliced pork, but that still tastes good. Usually when I hear chashu I expect slices of rolled pork belly. Nonetheless their ramen bowls hit the spot. As it’s the only place you can really get a great ramen bowl with delicious broth in this area, I have to give it 5 stars because it’s great and I encourage restaurants like this that white Minnesotan people in this area would likely be skeptical of. To any Minnesotans, you need to stop eating tater tot hot dish all of the time and expand your palette. There are so many good flavors and dishes from around the world that you are missing out on! If you don’t care much for ramen I’ve had their orange chicken, general tsos, and sesame chicken too. It is amazing. These people who own the restaurant know what they are doing. The only thing I could say that they improve is to use the sliced and rolled pork belly. If you search “chashu” on Google you will see what I mean. Anyways it’s still the best place to get ramen around here. Just because I have a few things that I think could be better doesn’t mean you should think twice before ordering here. The flavor and deliciousness of their food...
Read moreMy family and I were craving ramen while in Albertville and decided to try this place out. We had the gyoza, chicken wings and Ton Ramen (x2). We also added on shrimp and extra noodles.
Overall, food was pretty good. Not the best ramen I've ever had; tonkatsu seemed thin and the dish felt shy on ingredients, but I really appreciated the fresh sear on the pork belly. The wings were tasty and had a perfect crunch. The dumplings looked hand made. The kids made light work of the shrimp and extra noodles.
However the service was a real struggle here. Only one lady working out front. She was nice but wasn't the most efficient. Multiple tables had their orders taken out of sequence from the order they were seated in. Some tables had their order mixed up. Walk ins, takeout and online orders all experienced problems (missed items, delays, wrong names). And one couple who came in after us got seated but never had their order taken, so they walked out after ten mins of sitting at their table.
Because of the continuous kerfuffle and disarray the atmosphere was a little tense and uncomfortable. A few families (including ours) had infants and young kids, so their impatience and hangry-ness were most prominent. It's a small space so you're aware of everyone else's issues. Big props though to all the other guests - despite the hiccups and awkward moments, everyone remained polite and respectful.
Again, maybe this wasn't the norm, but I found it hard to believe when the lady out front kept saying to multiple patrons "sorry it's usually not this busy". It was Thursday evening at dinner time when we went ¯(ツ)/¯.
Because of the food I'd be willing to give them a second chance next time we're in the area, to see...
Read moreVery disappointing considering the previous reviews. We went for a late lunch 1pm, and the place was dead. There was only one customer and the waitress was always on her phone. She did not even clear that customers dishes after he left and left the dirty table the whole hour we were there. I ordered vegetarian Ramen and got a meat combo plate!! When I said it was the wrong order she argued with me that I ordered the “white noodles”. Everyone at the table heard me ordering vegetarian. She then suggested she “add vegetables” to the dish. Ummm no, I asked for a vegetarian dish, not a meat dish with vegetables added. I asked for my original order to be put in again and ate the noodles of the dish she brought. The food was ok. Not particularly good or bad but the service was absolutely terrible. At the hour mark i finally had to shout across the room to her (head still down in her phone) if we could please get 3 to go containers. She brought 2 bases and 3 lids…. Sigh. Phone interruption again to get the missing base. Plates were never cleared, ours or the customer that had left an hour ago. We ended up paying full price for the wrong order as well as our entrees. By the time we finally got our checks we all just paid in cash to get out of there. We left her back at her table, scrolling through her phone with her free hand shoveling food in her mouth. Completely unprofessional and...
