REVISION - 4/3/2024. I have been a long time patron of this establishment and have always, always loved eating here or ordering takeaway. Since Covid, the quality and quantity of food has gone downhill. That's been the same at every restaurant everywhere and I get it. However, the past year has seen major changes in their curries. I used to get a lot more food, so much that it lasted two days. Now the sauce itself is much thinner, where as it used to robust. Our most recent meal, on 4/2/24, was EXTREMELY disappointing. They must have a new cook in the kitchen. While we had ordered a couple of dishes with tofu, my curry dish, which was ordered with chicken, was prepared with tofu as well. For the first time ever, the mussaman curry had broccoli in it. And there were no potatoes at all. If there were potatoes in it, I sure don't remember coming across them. Had we been dining in, I'd have sent the meal straight back. SO DISAPPOINTED. I've NEVER had broccoli in this dish. The other dish ordered, the pad thai, was also completely different than the way it has been prepared previously. SUPER BUMMED. We'll be searching out a new Thai restaurant moving forward. Might have to switch over to Thai Tip.
I just wanted to give major props to the folks who run Bangkok Bite. I started coming here in 2016 or so when I worked down the street. The Mussaman curry gives me such warm fuzzies when I have it. It's so good... my comfort food. My spouse usually gets the Pad Thai and it's always consistently good. We've tried to patronize as much as we can during Covid because we'd hate to see Bangkok Bite close their doors. The young man who waits on me everytime I go in is so wonderful and sweet. I have had a lot of great Thai food in my life, and this place rates right there at the top. Maybe one day they'll place Kow Soy on the menu... then...

IDK what the negative reviews are about. I've been to Thailand numerous times and this is what the food taste like. Maybe others made a poor menu decision.
One of ABQ’s hidden gems! 💎 The food at this place is legit good and authentic. Traveled to Thailand a few times and eaten the local food and the flavors are the same. LEGIT! Small place with good chill atmosphere. My only nitpick is I wish the plates were under $10, like $8.95. Then it would be perfect. But with today’s economy and our President Brandon, I get it. But really the food here is worth the $10.95 for the authentic taste. It such a welcome spot for ABQ. I just wish they were closer to my house. I hope they do very well! Also, the spice level is about accurate. If you’ve been around the world to different cultures then you know about spices. Don’t say you know spice because you’ve eaten red/green chile all your life. Asian and Indian spices are different.if you like spicy start with a 3. That should be tolerable if you can’t do heat. That way you can finish your food. If 3 isn’t hot enough, then that can be your excuse to come here again and try 4. 😉
ps. Unless your kids are very well behaved (VERY WELL BEHAVED) don’t bring your rug rat kids in here to spoil the place and ruin...
Read moreThis was our second time trying to try Bangkok Bite. The first time they had posted a sign on their door they were closed during their normal business hours, which is always frustrating when you’ve checked the hours beforehand. We got lucky they were open this time.
The restaurant is a small space with indoor dining. The decor is somewhat generic and there isn’t much in the way of ambiance, but this would be a good spot for a business lunch or casual friends. I wouldn’t bring a date here.
The front of the restaurant is clean, but the men’s restroom is dirty and needs a very thorough deep clean.
I got the pineapple fried rice with tofu, spicy level 2 out of 5. The fried rice doesn’t come with raisins, which I love but is obviously just a personal preference. Along with the protein selection, it comes with egg, onion, light cabbage, a few pieces of nearly-raw broccoli, cilantro, and a few garnishes (a lime slice and a few cucumber slices).
The rice was fine texture wise and I enjoyed the sizing of the tofu pieces, but it’s nothing I’d write home about. My hubby, who ordered the same entree, described the dish as “bland and mediocre” and I’d likely agree. It wasn’t savory in any way and didn’t have much in the way of flavoring. It was kind of just… there.
Overall a bland experience from the dish...
