Yesterday my family and I had diner here, and we had the worst customer service experience. We thought that because the rules for Covid are not longer in place they will be serving the food on regular plates not in to go containers. After we order I noticed that the only table that was there eating had their food still in to go containers, so I ask the guy in the front if they were still service in to go containers and he said yes, so I asked him verry nicely if they could put my order(only my plate not my family's) in a regular plate because I have a health problem and I have to avoid plastics, last time we were there I told them and, they did it, but this time the lady came out and said to me that they couldn't do it because if they do it for someone they will have to do it for everyone, and I told her that I have a problem with plastics and, that was why I was asking for a regular plate and, verry rudely she said no that they could not do it, so we where so in shock that not even after telling her that my request was for a health reason she didn't even try to do that for me and, the way she treated us. We always give good tips because we were servers before and we're nice and we as experienced server know that whenever a customer have a health problem they can make exceptions. I wanted to canceled my order but unfortunately it was already payed ( You have to pay when you order in the front). So I eat a little bit because I was very hungry but I suffered the consequences later. Not going back to this place...
Read moreA delicious restaurant I was happy to find!
The food was a 5/5. We tried the pad Thai with tofu and the massaman curry (spice level 2) with tofu. Krung does spice levels 1-5, with five being the hottest.
The pad Thai was flavorful and savory even without additional spice.
The massaman curry had a choice of protein, potatoes, bamboo, onions, peanuts, pineapple, carrots, and broccoli. The latter two ingredients aren’t listed on the menu ingredients but were a welcome surprise. The spice level two is what I would consider a typical medium. The curry worked well with the many ingredients. I’ll definitely be getting it again.
There is only one fried rice dish on the menu, which is aptly named “fried rice” and comes with protein, celery, eggs, and onion. There are no options for the usual Thai fried rice fare of pineapple fried rice, spicy basil fried rice, etc.
The restaurant has transitioned to counter service because of a lack of employees per a sign at the counter. The dishes are served in to-go containers along with a paper plate to eat on. Because of the counter service, paper plates, and limited fried rice menu, I’d give Krung a 4/5 overall. The food they do have on the menu is delicious, however, so would be perfect for a...
Read moreBeen going here for years. Previous visit was one month ago. Family visiting last night. 5 of us went on 5/5/22. The food was still fresh & full of flavor. Though they have set the restaurant to more of a "to go" atmosphere.
They did not greet us when we entered & when we selected our table. 2 employees were talking to each other. They didn't bring us menus.
Finally I went to the counter to get paper menus.
They now take orders at their counter - they do not have a waiter or waitress. The food is "served" to your table as if it were "to go"; in plastic bags & Styrofoam containers. We were handed paper plates & paper bowls for our dining experience.
Not a word was said to us & no one checked on us at all during our meal. We went to the counter for more beverages.
I get that expenses, payroll, etc are high & difficult but we are through the pandemic. We wanted a pleasurable dinner "out" with family - not a "less than fast-food" type service.
I guess in the future we get to save on tipping & just order it to go to eat on real...
