Warmly greeted at the front counter. Ample menu selection. The staff was friendly and willing to make recommendations. The dining area was clean. At least 20+ tables. I appreciated that the water had cucumber and grapefruit in the container. It was very refreshing and a thoughtful touch. To eat I ordered a Cubano sandwich and potato salad. I also ordered a side of pasta salad (per staff recommendation). Cubano tasted pretty darn good. The bread was actually a perfect combination of crispy and soft. I would have liked a bit more of the toppings for the sandwich itself but it turned out to be a good sandwich after all. The potato salad was (as others have noted) a bit mashed up and lacked just a bit of salt and pepper. The pasta salad was definitely the winner here, perfectly cooked and flavorful with that balsamic taste. I was looking forward to trying the cole slaw (as I hear it is stellar) but they were out of this side. I also took home an Albuquerque Turkey, side salad and fruit. This combo was pretty good as well. The green chile on the Abq sandwich was okay, it could be a tad spicier but that's just my preference. I also thought that the ABQ turkey was heftier than the Cubano in terms of the amount of meat. Prices are average for this type of quality and freshness. I had a nice conversation with the owner. I'll be back to try other items. I was certainly glad to be a patron of this locally owned...
Read moreSince being introduced to Relish it had quickly become one of our favorite places……until today. The young man who waited on us was very condescending. We wanted a basic sandwich with just turkey and cheese. When I asked if it could be toasted he rolled his eyes, pointed toward the menu board and said yes with an extra dose of attitude. On my order I asked for no green chile and plain mayo. We finished our order and took a seat. When we got to our table we discussed that the person taking our order didn’t seem to be happy working there. Our food came out and I found green chile on my sandwich. I waited a few minutes and went up and said that I had asked for no chili and I did not want another sandwich. I just wanted a refund. I explained that I was not in the mood now to eat there because of the rudeness of the young man who waited on us. A gentleman came out of the back and asked what the problem was. It was getting loud and I didn’t feel it was fair to discuss this in front of all the other patrons. Everyone was watching. I was told that I needed to have a good reason or I would not get a refund. Poor customer service will always be a reason for me to not want to eat somewhere. $36.06 for a few sips of soda and 1 sandwich with 2 slices of bread with turkey and...
Read moreFast FRIENDLY service but MEDIOCRE FOOD & WAY OVER-PRICED. Gourmet? Nah not even by 'burque standards. RELISH IS A RELIC OF WHAT IT USED TO BE. What WAS gourmet took a LONG ROLL DOWN HILL. Chop Chop used to be a great salad, chock full of moist cubed chicken, hericot verts, beets, feta & olives, mixed with a delicious vinaigrette and two sliced slabs of a baguette and a dalop of butter. NOT NO MO' The SAD SALAD I was served on Friday 2/12/24 was a distant cousin to its gourmet great grandmother. DRY CHICKEN on a pile of mixed greens from a bag with a few green beans tossed in. The dressing came in a little plastic cup on the side and the bread? Just to make sure that the customer doesn't get away with too much, you get two quarter size slices of dry bread. TWO TINY SLICES and of course not a spec of butter - or even olive oil! SO SAD SO SHABBY RELISH! For 15 BUCKS YOU COULD EXPECT A LOT MORE My friend ordered what appeared to be the PALEST, PLAINEST CUBANO we'd ever seen - What you'd expect from ANY APS CAFETERIA with a loud open decor to boot. Seriously, I think you could make a better Cubano at home with ingredients from a Circle K. ** Two Stars - one for each little...
