6/3/25 Visit 2 Stars I ordered 1ild and 1 medium fish sandwich to go. I got home on the Westside only to find out I got 2 no seasoning fish sandwiches.
Look at your order before leaving. As I said when the men are cooking they can't get it right!!! If the women are cooking it's right.
7/27/2024 Visit. 3 Stars Ordered 2 catfish dinners. Received 1 catfish on 1 piece of bread REALLY?? I should have a sandwich which consists of 2 slices of bread, NOT 1. Fish was much smaller and THIN SLICED.
Tables dirty. They offer brewed swèt tea which is OUT OF ORDER. Then you're told you can add sugar to the unsweetened tea...REALLY?? The beverage area is messy and sticky. Worker was putting in napkins and did not bother wiping the area off (what a shame.)
4/17/2024 Visit 2 STARS for food. I ordered catfish CLUKING hot (5 peppers hot) and received regular plain fish. I had to put a lot of hot sauce on it to get some spiciness. NO CONSISTENCY WITH COOKING!!
2/10/2024 Visit 4 STARS for Food We had catfish sandwiches, which were good and fried well with the ends crispy. The catfish were larger than the bread. Picture: Shows cole slaw on top of fish.
It was cold in the eating area so I had to pack up my meal and finosh at the house.
1/11/24 Visit 1st order 6 Wings at medium degree + greens. The wings had no seasoning at all 2nd order 3 wings at clucking degree + greens. Not hot and barley seasoned. Chicken still had a lot of feathers still on the cooked chicken.
Being from Nashvill, TN, I grew up on the Nashville chicken, and this is not it, and really, it has gotten worse.
We will be sticking to the good catfish they cook very well. Hold the feathers on the chicken next time...LOL
10/4/23 Visit They have very large and good catfish that covered the bread. Also ordered wings at clucking hot, which was not as hot as advertised but good.
6/22/23 Visit We had 2 catfish sandwiches, 1 hot ( 3 peppers) and 1- mild (2 peppers). Pretty good, so I moved to 3 - STARS
EARLIRT VISIT: Went for catfish, but they ran out, so I settled for Nashville Hot Chicken. Being from Nashville and raised on the original Prince Hot Chicken I know how it should taste. It was no Nashville Hot Chicken and not even close. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
If it is on the menu (catfish) have the food in stock and ready to be prepared for the customer.
ADVICE TO ALL RESTAURANTS: Don't promote your chicken as Nashville Hot Chicken when it's not. Say something like "Our Rendition Of Nashville...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I always look at the negative reviews and usually finish with the positive reviews. I'm always astounded by the reviews that complain about the obvious. Multiple people mentioned that the food was greasy.. but then said they had FRIED chicken, French FRIES, FRIED okra etc. Folks, that's how fried food is made, with grease. Other complaints were in regards to the look of the restaurant or the attentiveness of the staff, and I'm sure that's a flip of the coin. On the night I went, the restaurant was clean and the staff friendly but I'm sure there are good days and bad. Another complaint was the prices which is a common complaint in Albuquerque. Most people are expecting McDonald's prices or a bucket of food. But this is also from a city who thinks $5 parking at The Pit is dipping into their 401K plan. I found the prices adequate to the amount and quality of the meal. I ordered the chicken sandwich at a heat level of 3. It was large, crispy, mild running of the nose hot and yes folks, greasy. My wife ordered the chicken and waffles and said the waffles could have been a little more crispy but the chicken was good and like fried chicken usually is, greasy. I gave Nashville Hot 4 out of 5 stars based on price, amount of food, staff, cleanliness, taste and some bonus credit for it's uniqueness in a city that doesn't have many options for spicy chicken. I want to encourage anybody reading this to skim down for awhile and find a reviewer with the catchy call name of NM DONUT KWEEN THE FOODIE, which is what I think is a pseudonym for SUGAR PLUM FAIRY OF THE BACON SLAUGHTERHOUSE. This "petite" little gem of a reviewer didn't even eat one bite of food because they served her country crock for her meal instead of real butter. Ok, maybe that's not the best quality but how can you write a review of a restaurant if your didn't eat anything. I'm sure this health conscious social justice warrior went to KFC and got her a 12 piece bucket of original style chicken and went home to watch a recorded episode of "My 600lb Life". Hopefully your experience at Nashville Hot Chicken will be as enjoyable...
Read moreTL;DR: Full recommendation to eat any and all food from here, but inside dining is slightly subpar.
Chile Chicken (Originally Firebird Hot Chicken) is an excellent transplant of the Nashville Style Hot Chicken, into the ABQ restaurant space. The food is excellent and (can be) very, very spicy. My usual from here, is the standard hot chicken combo, a Leg and a Thigh at a "Cluckin' Hot" heat level, with sweet potato fries and a drink. For 9 dollars, the quality and taste are all together phenomenal. The chicken skin is fried and crispy, while the inside still is moist and salty, and all of it is in surrounded by an inferno of heat. Sweet potato fries are actually made from sweet potatoes and they are hardy, crispy and wonderfully tasty. The chicken is the star of the restaurant menu, and with variable heat levels, everyone can get the heat experience they are comfortable with, however the rest of the menu is not just limited to a few items as substitutions or other cuts of chicken. Other menu options include poutine, catfish, fried okra, and much more. Alas, I cannot give a better review as the inside dining experience is bland, and nothing special. The tables are wobbly and at odd angles, seating is limited, although that's not unusual in the COVID era. The staff is friendly and makes quality food, but their attentiveness to customers, beyond ordering and serving the food, is mostly non-existent. Drink options are standard CocaCola fountains drinks, and cup sizes are a little small. Despite having a mediocre sit down dining experience, my partner and I will continue to be customers out of Chile Chicken as long as they continue to make such cool top quality, delicious food. Wether you get the food to go, or dine in, you can not go wrong with eating at...
