Tried it for the first time on Friday night. The atmosphere is going to be nice especially in the warmer months with the outdoor patio area. They had some technical difficulties that you’d expect for an opening weekend so you had to order at each truck instead of the Kiosk that you could normally order from inside with every food truck option. Went to Tino’s tacos and their menu wasn’t printed yet so I went with 6 tacos (2 of each flavor), and got asada, al pastor, and pollo. I was surprised when my total was $17 but was okay paying to try somewhere new and to see if they were worth it. My wife and I had to sadly say these might have been the worst tacos from a food truck we’ve ever had. The asada was super greasy and were over cooked so bad they were like chicharons, then we couldn’t figure out which one was the al pastor or chicken but one had way to much fat and the other was okay. Very disappointing when there are AMAZING taco trucks just up the street. We also shared a grilled cheese with turkey and green chile from NM Melts and that was delicious!!! We would definitely be going back to try the other food trucks but when it comes to tacos,...
Read moreNuevo Atrisco is hiding in plain site and it is worth getting to know. While it looks like 9 separate food trucks, the ordering, service and venue are fully integrated and it functions like a single restaurant. Now to get to the good stuff. We have had lunch there twice, at Tio Tommy's and Pizzza and both were excellent. Our lunches were served hot and were very fresh and flavorful. Tasty and yummy are words that come to mind to describe our burritos and pizza.
The food was served in to-go bags but there are plenty of indoor and outdoor tables, so you can just hang out and enjoy a very pleasant space that includes, music, video screens, and clean bathrooms.
We have decided to have lunch there at least once a week and can't wait to try all the "food truck" options. Nuevo Atrisco makes a meaningful addition to the food scene on the West Side of Albuquerque (Did I mention it is conveniently located at the intersection of Unser Blvd. and...
Read moreNew concept for the city definitely did not disappoint. We stopped in for lunch and we had a variety of choices to pick from a kiosk housed inside the pavilion, and after selecting your choices from your trucks, you’ll get a text when your order is ready to pick up. There’s an outside space that will definitely be a great spot once it warms up, and looking forward to some beer on the patio soon.
We did have an issue with one of our burgers from a vendor (missing extra paid for ingredient) but the management made it right ASAP and that’s always appreciated for a new spot. Professional and courteous staff, delicious and a great variety of food, and right down the road from my house? I’ll be back to...
