Sanchez Tacos #1 — Restaurant in Albuquerque

Let me start off by saying I went based off of the reviews on Google and man did they disappoint. I'm from California and me and my family were traveling back home and we where in the mood for some tacos so I get on Google and start searching for best taco trucks near me and Sanchez taco truck was on top. It says you can call ahead and I did try but they never answered the phone and I tried calling a few times. I just figured I have a different area code and they might've thought I was Spam so I make it to the taco truck and what the reviews forgot to mention was that the taco truck is in a BAD location. There's tweakers walking around on the street and cars driving carelessly. The location is just all bad it makes you feel like you're gonna get robbed. I obviously got out with my husband and made sure to lock our car given our kids were in the car and as a precaution, it was around 10 p.m. We order our food 9 tacos 3 quesadillas and 4 cokes and my total was $69! I was not expecting to pay that but I did we had been driving for hours and my family was hungry so we got on the road and start eating. My tacos had barely any onion and cilantro on them and the tortilla was soggy. I am glad it was only a one time experience for me because I will never be going to that taco truck again. The tacos in California are 1.50 and way better than the ones they served at Sanchez taco truck. Shame on them for over pricing their food when it's not great at all given where they're located as well. It's no wonder they don't write their prices on the side of the picture like other taco trucks I've seen or won't find their prices anywhere online because they rip you off. This location has been a good go to spot, but for the past year or so quality has gone way down, now it's a hit or miss. They used to serve in a to go box which was very convenient. Now they give a cheap paper plate covered in foil. They hardly give any meat in the tacos, and it's very over priced for the quality and quantity of food they give you, the only reason I didn't give a one star is because I love the red salsa, but even with that you have to fight them to give you extra salsas, when you buy 3 or 4 different things, each plate should come with it's own salsas, you shouldn't have to ask for extra because they gave you one red and one green salsa for the whole order. We recently had Sanchez cater our daughter’s wedding Sept 2025. The food was good but when we went to pay they raised the price that was previously quoted. 80 guests at $12 a plate. Then my husband asked the price at the end of the food serving and the price went up again. We didn’t know but over paid for the total and they were so dishonest. We also provided produce from a farm of onions, jalapeños and tomatoes to help. We are letting all know to beware of this dishonesty and how they take advantage of a wedding party chaos and situation when you are busy with guests. The amount quoted was raised at least $500.
