Was waiting to pay for my pickup order. The place was busy but there were only 2 people in front of me at the register. (There's no space at the register whatsoever). Well, I got ignored for a good 5 minutes by 3 women working there. In the timespan the front got busy and another lady got to the register and checked out 6 people and didn't bother to acknowledge me already waiting there. Finally another woman asked me for the order I had. I gave my name. She said she's gonna get it and the lady that's been ignoring me will ring me up. I go to pay as I was told to do but the lady at the register ignored me again and helped a few men that had just left their table to pay. I finally spoke up and kindly let her know I just want to pay and get out of the way as I've been waiting here and in the way for awhile now. She acknowledged me and said ok, turned around once again and rang up 2 other men that were barely getting to the line and ignored me. Not sure why she was being so prejudice, racist and sexist against me but at that point she was just being extremely disrespectful for no reason. I just cancelled the order which is when she finally was nice enough to to say ok and have a good day. I hope y'all do better and get a place where your customers actually fit and aren't crammed like peasants lol. Los olivos, cielito lindo, los pookies, are better alternatives...
Read moreEl Viva Mexico is a very nice place to enjoy a quite delicious New Mexican menu and walk away satisfied! The Coctel de Cameron (mexican shrimp cocktail) is superb!!! I think it is very possibly the best I've had here in Albuquerque. It is what I would refer to as authentic. I have been to places that use sprite, orange soda, 7-UP, and club soda in theirs. It is not meant to be carbonated. It is a tomato juice based dish (Similar to cold cucumber soup). This is a cocktail, rather than a horseradish cocktail sauce, it is a tomato juice that typically has diced cucumber, celery, onion, and cilantro. Added in are diced avocado. Then shrimp. Garnish with lime wedges. Sided with saltiness, hot sauce, and sometimes ketchup. Delicious!!! The place is quite clean. The folks are very nice. If you don't speak the language, don't be embarrassed. They speak English....
Read moreWe visited this Mexican food restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. The place is relatively small and the parking lot was completely full. We had to cycle around a couple of times to find a parking spot. Once inside, we were told there was a 30-minute wait, which really turned into a 15-minute one.
Once seated, we were quickly served chips and salsa and and our order was taken. The salsas had great flavor and were pretty spicy. I had the tampiqueña plate, which included two red enchiladas and a flat iron steak, and my spouse had the flautas. Both meals were delicious and well worth the wait.
After our server took our order, the service became a bit slow, which is understandable since they were pretty easy. Thankfully, the hostess was helping out behind the servers and that helped immensely. Overall, this place gets five stars for great tasting...
