Should have looked at their website for operating hours, and didn't know they close from 2:30 to 4:30PM, yet when we showed up a few minutes before the afternoon close, they had no problem whippin' us up a take-out family meal for 2. While waiting, we visited the guitar shop--located right next to them--which was convenient. Late lunch was quite a lot of Chin-Amer fare for a great price, honestly. It was standard stuff, but perfect for two large humanoid dudes, with plenty of leftovers for whenever. I will say their S&S Pork was made with huge chunks of swine, yet was still very tender. All-in-all there wasn't a bad bite of food in the whole feast. We weren't expecting fine dining, and recommend others should limit their expectations as well. Nice job, South China...

I ordered the crab ragoons appetizer and they were some of the best ragoons I've had in awhile. My main dish was the Szechwan Beef combination plate. The beef was tender not chewy but the sauce/gravy had a weird aftertaste and was not spicy at all (Spicy plate). The egg roll that came with the combination was chewy and not very good. My granddaughter ordered the sweet and sour chicken and wanted to substitute the fried rice with noodles and was up charged an additional $2.50. The chicken was heavily breaded and was your typical Chinese breaded chicken which was 2/3 breading.

I've been looking for good Chinese food for a long time and I'd almost given up until I ate here. Most Chinese restaurants I've been to seem use poor quality ingredients and doesnt taste good. Here eveything tasted fresh and delicious! It has great and friendly service. The portion sizes are great and reasonably priced too. I definitely plan on coming back here again and I recommend eating here.

I'm a pretty big fan of cheap Chinese food and I'm not that picky. Don't know what all the 5-star scores are about unless I just picked a bad day to go. First, the hot and sour soup was hands down the worst I've ever had. I love hot and sour and couldn't even finish it, because it's not hot and sour soup. It legit tastes like they heated up the egg roll sauce and dropped some eggs and frozen veggies in. Why is it sweet? Chicken breading was soggy. Fried rice was fine. Egg roll was good. All in all I can get exactly what I got in a lunch special from chopstix for less money and it will taste better. Hard to recommend...

South China has been my favorite restaurant for years, and it never disappoints. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made — you can tell they put love into every dish. The staff is so kind and welcoming, and they always make you feel like family the moment you walk in.

Everything I’ve tried has been amazing, but I definitely have my go-to favorites. (sweet and sour chicken, soup, egg rolls, ) I honestly crave it all the time! Whether I’m dining in or ordering takeout, the quality is always consistent and delicious.

If you’re thinking about trying South China, do it — it’s a gem you’ll keep...
