Edited Review Update: I must say there is one woman in particular that works here that does not have the same skills or experience that the two other women have, since being seen by her after my last review. I did not appreciate having to go to her, while I would have preferred someone who hadn't messed up my nails once before.
After she took the old gel off, she used a crazy thick grain file on my already thin nails and split my thumb nail filing down way too much while she was working on me, and just seemed to glue it to stop it spliting more. Now my index nail is split as well, two days later, at more than half way down. It will probably take weeks of wearing band aids to wait for it to grow out, if not longer. I have never had someone be so brutal on my nails in my entire life. I will no longer be giving my money to this establishment because of this experience.
Prior review:
Been coming here off and on for the past year or so, at least half a dozen times or more. The shop is clean, the ladies are really nice, even when I've watched people be...
Read moreToday was my first visit to Nina's Nail Salon for a pedicure and manicure. They were very friendly, accommodating, the prices reasonable and a convenient location for me. Did everything I asked and it was an overall great experience.
My only concern is the chemical fumes were overwhelming. I have lung issues and strong chemicals of any kind are not good for me and probably for no else one either. The staff all wear masks and I'm so glad I had mine otherwise I would not have been able to tolerate it. The ventilation needs serious improvement. Fans, open the door, something... The winter is undoubtedly even worse being enclosed like that.
However, since I did like Jenny's work so well I'm willing to try it again and I scheduled a future appointment for one more try. If it doesn't improve, unfortunately I will have to...
Read moreI NEVER leave negative reviews if I can help it. But, had a very upsetting experience--after having an okay gel mani a few weeks ago. Today, went back for the same, and explained to the young tech not to use a dremel remove the top coat (my nails and nailbeds are very sensitive). She used a rough sanding block which was about as painful. When I complained, she pulled out the roughest emery board, actually drew blood from one cuticle. When I flinched, pulled back my hand, she jumped up and refused to go any further. Even worse, she refused to take the old polish off with acetone because "it would take too long." Then the man who sits at the front of the salon started YELLING at me in a foreign language--his wife came up and told me to get out. Had to wait outside 30 minutes for my husband to come pick me...
