My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed TULLY’s special monthly Italian Dinner Night – definitely worthy of a top-class fine-dining Italian restaurant, but this is a “deli”: local and reasonably priced. To start, we were served a champagne glass with a delicious blood orange aperitif. Then we had a Caprese Salad, with an especially creamy fresh buffalo mozzarella cheese and ripe heirloom tomatoes over an arugula salad bed – a nice change from traditional basil leaves. And it was really delicious, per comments from us and other tables. Then we were served an antipasto of golden deep-fried calamari in warm garlic-lemon and olive oil – that was really outstanding and tasty, especially since it’s very hard to cook large calamari pieces without it becoming rubbery. Then, the main course – rigatoni with Bolognese sauce – was amazing! Lots of pasta, lots of sauce, lots of broccoli rabe – bigger serving sizes than most restaurants. Indeed, a very exceptional banquet. Finally, we were served a vanilla panna cotta dessert with assorted berries – super tasty and sweet! Not to mention, Tully’s included a very good Pino Grigio wine with the antipasti, and an excellent Sangiovese wine with the main dish. We absolutely loved this superb dinner! Very highly recommended, especially for the first-rate quality of food and the reasonable prices – and very friendly...
Read moreBEST Italian Deli in Albuquerque. It’s always hard to find a quality family owned deli that has a unique atmosphere, uses high quality ingredients, and maintains fair prices especially when you consider how much quality product you get.
The Sicilian has been my go to for over a year, but today I got a half sub of the Sicilian and a half sub of the Al Pacino. And the al Pacino is just as good, but the Sicilian is still my favorite Simply because it is perfect.
I wish I enjoyed wine and champagne, because their selection looks intriguing and matches the menu fairly well.
I don’t buy from the bakery and the Minimart as much as I should. They have a great selection of fresh baked sweets, and a wonderful market filled with quality Italian produce. The meats and cheeses that are imported are possibly the best you can get. They also have premade meals that I’ve used to try, but always catch my eye.
Tully’s is an Albuquerque staple, and a testament to the American Dream. They truly care about delivering a quality experience. If you go when it’s busy, just be patient. It’s essentially a New York bodega style deli & market, and it’s worth the...
Read moreSo it’s a cool spot and more than a deli with prepped meals, desserts and all things Italian. My complaint would be that portion sizes are huge and you can’t get a 1/2 sub for certain things like the Cuban. If I’m 18 years old with pac man metabolism I wouldn’t care but most would never eat that much. The sandwich ratios also seem off where everything is piled on to excess and spilling over. Again minor but makes for a messy eating experience. Now here’s the real let down….i don’t think the sub rolls are up to standard. The bread is everything when you get a sub. It’s the star of the show and for some reason I just didn’t like it. Go to Coda Bakery (not an endorsement) and you’ll see how the bread or roll can make the difference. People are great. Cool spot and ingredients are top notch but maybe fix the portion ratios and be more critical about the bread/roll. Grabbed a jar of pasta sauce and some red bell peppers with a bag of penne. Almost purchased a lasagna but $28 (fixed price) seemed a bit too steep...
