Easily one of the best of its type in town, this restaurant has a good variety & the food is delicious. It is not a large buffet - only 5 food bars from which to choose your meal, a pick-your-own hibachi, & a sushi bar - but the quality of food makes up for that. If you're looking for sushi to be the star of your meal, you'll want to try one of the other specialty restaurants. However, Panda's sushi is a nice addition. Most of the time, the restaurant is very clean. Over the 15+ years I have frequented this place, I have found the restrooms in disarray only a few times. Usually, mentioning it to any of the workers fixes the issue very quickly. We most often have great service. Every now & then we will meet a new worker (the new ones usually really struggle with English) & while the experience might be a little difficult, it isn't bad. For example, the new girl last night brought unsweet when I ordered sweet tea. All other drink orders at our table were correct. She brought a sweet tea for me when I asked. Minor inconvenience & in no way detrimental to our dining experience. If you're looking for glamour, go elsewhere. If you want GOOD FOOD, this is your place.

Worse experience I have ever had eating out. The staff was rude from the moment we walked in, then seated us in a back room in front of a busted out window that had tarps on the floor. The buffet food was disgusting. Everything liquid had been watered down even the A1 sauce, which I had to taste because I thought it was Worcestershire sauce. I don’t know how anyone has not gotten sick from eating here I complained to my waitress and she told me I had to talk to the owner at the front when I spoke to him and told him we didn’t eat. He told me we wasted food by getting the plates and I still had to pay full price. He started screaming and his face turned red Scared my kids, and was not capable of having a calm adult conversation DO NOT EAT HERE $140 wasted and had to go get my kids McDonald’s when we left

We stopped by this evening and were not disappointed. The food we tried was all delicious and fresh. The dishes the wife ate were good as well as the ones I hade; which is unusual. There was also a selection of sushi which I cannot remark on since neither of us enjoy it. But it all looked nice and others around us talked highly of it.

Ive been coming here since I was a little girl, & only in my adulthood did i realize how much of a prick the owner is. First things first, the food is really good. I cant lie about that. However, when getting TO-GO, the owner becomes extremely rude & is very strict about how much food is in the to-go box. If the box cannot close, he will scream at you & begin freaking out, & then will not allow you to purchase. This isnt an exaggeration - the man will LITERALLY scream at you for whatever reason, causing a huge scene in front of other people. Today, I came to get myself & my boyfriend a To-go plate ( one for each of us ). Upon walking up to check out, I realized they had smaller bowls for to-go use. I asked for one, & he starts saying "Why? Why? Why, huh?" To be honest, his aggressive nature caught me off gaurd, & all I could say was "I dont know...". He immediately begins flailing his arms around as he yells at me, "No, You cant have it. Nope. No. You cant even tell me what you want to put in it, so no." & he goes on & on about how he can charge me however much $$ he wants on that to-go bowl if I couldnt give him an answer as to what would go in it. I was seriously shocked at how this man couldnt control his emotions about a stupid to-go bowl. I was so embarrassed that he yelled at me in front of everyone in the restaurant. I couldnt speak anymore, just dropped my head & avoided eye contact as he checked me out. ( As he's checking me out, he is still making a VERY LOUD fuss about many things ). Needless to say, the owner is beyond rude and heartless. I'd call it Verbal Battery if that were a thing. To make things worse, I'm pregnant. So with the heightened emotions of pregnancy, I immediately began crying once I got into...

Never go back Daughter had foot surgery. Ask to be put out of the way of traffic so she could elevate foot and not get bumped. Put us in the middle of the room. Refused to sit there got up sat in a smaller room with no one in it. Had son sit at separate table so daughter could put foot on seat. Waiter told my 8 yr. old son he could not at separate table when I was not in there. Tried to explain to waiter she had to elevate foot he went to get manager although I think he is the owner. Manager asked if there was a problem tried to explain to him. He shrugged his shoulders. Started eating waiter came into room for other people 3 times would not refill our drinks. Went to manager told him waiter refused to refill our drinks. He said it was not his problem, talk to waiter. Told him I did he told me it was my problem and not his. I told him he was the boss and he is responsible for his employees and he said he was not and he had no problem with his employee. If the manager is not responsible for his employees then who is? He murmured something in Chinese, I asked him what he said and he refused to reply. They try to use the language barrier and play dumb. He was just arrogant and I lost my cool but we asked to be put away from people and did our best explain the situation. All I wanted was an apology or acknowledgement but when he said he was not responsible for his employees. We left without eating hardly anything and having to pay $31 a good manager /owner would cut us a deal or let us go without payment. But I guess you get what you pay for bad service bad food. They have etouffee that was nothing but fake crab meat. Want good Chinese got to Opelousas and eat at the one in the strip mall by...

Flying Wok is the first Chinese Buffet that I've visited in the area. I want to preface everything I say with the following. I understand that this is a Chinese buffet in a smaller city, so my standards reflect that. The service was fine. Friendly and welcoming staff. The food was not bad, but I've had better from a buffet. Any chicken based food was pretty good and moist. The Chow Mein noodles weren't the best. They tasted more chicken flavored (maybe like Ramen?) and were a bit dry. The sushi tasted cheap (the sushi at the commissary on FT Polk is better), but it was still edible.

The atmosphere was a little run down. The booth we were sitting at had visibly old (rotted?) dry wall. It seems that on the other side of the building had a significant amount of hurricane damage, so im sure an update will come soon.

The overall feeling i get from the food was that it ranges from average to not very good. Nothing was inedible (my opinion), but nothing was super good either. Was it bad? No. Would I recommend it? Yes, I would if all you want is cheap Chinese food. Would i visit again? Also, yes although, it would not be my first choice. I hope this short review helps you make a more informed decision in choosing (or...
