Marshalls — Local services in Alexandria

I purchased two pairs of women’s dress shoes on the 20th of last month. The shoes did not fit me well, and so I went back to return them today 10.06. There was a lady at the counter who turned on the Register 5 light, and I went up to her, unboxed the shoes to retrieve my receipt. She took my receipt without looking at it, looked at the shoes instead. Then asked me where the white tags were. I said the what? She then turned to another woman, not sure if she was the supervisor, who she explained I was trying to return the shoes but they don’t have white tags. The lady then told me, I’m sorry we can’t take these back because they don’t have the white tags. Interesting that I had my receipt, I also had my debit card I used to make the purchase including my drivers license to match my card. Yet I was asked for none of these as proof of purchase. Something is not right with that, but instead of getting upset, I left disappointed. Now I’m stuck with two pairs of size 9 uncomfortable dress shoes. I understand that this is a location high in theft but I am not that individual. As a member of management in a retail store myself, I’m appalled at that type of experience. I did explain, oh well, I guess I’ll have to find someone with a size 9 foot to give these to then, to which this individual remarked “sounds like a great idea.” I put the shoes in my trunk and came back in to check if they still had more of the same shoes I have. We met several kind and helpful employees. That's the exception to the rule in most Marshalls, Ross and TJ Maxx stores. The clothes were more organized than I have seen at other locations. We found great shoes and clothes for my daughter to wear to work. She's petite and has small feet and can be hard to shop for. The dressing room attendant was fantastic. Great store! Had a big selection of everything from clothing to household items such as brooms, potware and more! Prices are really reasonably with name brand clothing, shoes purses coats and the list goes on and on! Also when I was ready to check out there was a long line but to my surprise the cashiers did a great job keeping the line moving so I didn't even stay in line for 5 mins before I was at the...
