Story's Fresh Meat & Deli Inc — Restaurant in Algoma Township

I have been a customer here for about a year have never had any problems with their meat until today. I just bought an expensive roast to cut steaks out of for the week, which is rare for us on a budget, when we returned home the meat did not smell as it should. We turned around immediately to return the to meat. The gentleman that greeted me argued about the smell of the meat insisting that it was fine. And was disagreeable and rude. When he asked what I wanted to do I told him that I wanted to return the meat and purchase something of a lesser cost. He then was assertive for me to buy something else to make it more of a fair deal for him. His words. This is not the first time that this man has taken a nasty tone. I am very unhappy with stories for the first time. I have not been treated this poorly in a market ever. We are trying really hard to keep all of our business local. This experience is making it hard at this location. I will not be returning to story's Meat Market nor will I be recommending it any longer to family or friends or coworkers. Wow!! I cannot believe up until recently I had never heard of this place. I am a chef and for years I have lived off and on in the area. Sort of saddened that I missed out on this superb market for so long. The first time I purchased anything from Story's it was a beef filet which was outstanding. They trimmed and tied it perfectly. It was so beautiful I almost didn't want to cook it. Recently I was in the Cedar Springs area and I mentioned the place to my husband and he decided we should stop in. We grabbed a couple things but I really want to mention the incredible thick cut marinated pork steaks they had on special. $3.29/lb I would have paid $12/lb they were that good. I cooked them on the grill with indirect heat and they were tender, juicy and the flavor was 5 star. They just melted in your mouth. High 5's to Story's. Keep up the great work and I will be sure to be visiting more often. Too bad you don't deliver to White Cloud. Oh and to mention you carry Boar's Head...

Of you do anything go here oh my God the best wraps and sandwiches I've ever had crisp fresh greens amazing amount of meats on my wrap I thought I was getting lunch I ended up with a wrap to feed 2 people it was fresh awesome delicious and the best staff working there I've ever seen wanted to take a pic but couldn't stop eating long enough To do it and a darn fair price chips my wrap and a 20 oz coke just over 8 bucks and all fresh made stuff they also sell meats cheeses dip BBQ sauces sides of potato salads coleslaw and tons more stuff beef sticks homemade and woww I can't recall it all but best of all it's all served with a genuine smile and a love for what they do And you may even get a great engageing Conversation they are excited toeet new people and see old friends your family here You guys are the best I've ever seen great job great lunch thank you for you kindness And making me feel at home here 5 stars isn't...
