Sushi King — Restaurant in Algonquin

I work in the service/hospitality industry and would never give the service that I received in this restaurant. My family came out of town to celebrate my nieces birthday. 3 of us had ordered all you can eat and 4 others had ordered from their regular menu. While they waited for the food to arrive I offered 1 single piece of edamame to both my little 8 and 6 year old nieces, my sister and my husband. Suddenly of the staff members approached the table yelling saying that I couldn’t share and would charge me .75 per piece if they wanted to try the food that I am paying for!! NEVER in my life had I’ve been so embarrassed to share food with my family, it’s not like I was trying to scam the restaurant by offering a piece of food. It was so unpleasant to have the rest of the families dining look at us while she yelled and just ruined the entire dinner experience. For this reason, I will never visit the restaurant again no matter how great the food can be. If the owner reads this please re-train your staff to treat their customers better because as a person who works in the industry I can tell you this type of service is...

TERRIBLE , TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE SERVICE! BEWARE. We visiting this Sushi place at dinner time. This was my first time and the server was extremely rude. I felt like I was a burden. Apparently this is how she treats all her customers. The group I came with said they dined here plenty of times and the Sushi is amazing but the ONE SERVER LADY, in fact, I think she owns the place. DISAPPOINTING. YOU DO NOT TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS. No wonder they are not as busy as they should be. We go to other sushi places and receive top notch service. We were considering walking out! I will definitely not return and neither will my group because even though the sushi is on point - service sucks and who was to support this attitude. I noticed they have a lot of carry out - most likely because people do not want to dine in and receive this service! FIX YOUR ATTITUDE. Last time a friend was at the facility and paid for all you can eat - this lady came and grabbed his plate, gave him the check, basically kicking him out because they "had too much". This is our go to spot for sushi nights! We love mixing and matching rolls for the dinner special, some of our favorite rolls are Spider, Crazy Monkey, Angel, Pop Up, Volcano, and Crazy Boy. For appetizers, we love their gyoza, fried crab, and I'm a big fan of their sesame balls. For sashimi we like the White Tuna, Yellowtail, Red Snapper, Mackerel, White Fish and Egg. For less than $30 it is A LOT of food!

We recently realized they have a Chinese Menu in addition to their obvious Japanese Menu, and as self proclaimed connoisseurs of BBQ Pork Lo Mein, we had to order some (my hopes were not high because this is a sushi spot). It was immediately top 3 that we've ever tried (and we've tried a lot from literally living all over the country). SO GOOD. So, this is now our go to for Chinese food now too!
