El Jalisiense — Restaurant in Alice

Wow, what an omelette ! Another road trip local diner stop, this time for breakfast. And El Jalisiende was the perfect choice for a meal to start the day off right. This place was extremely busy but service was fast and friendly. Plenty of choices on the menu, I went with the Jalisco Omelette. No skimping on eggs or ingredients here - quite a large omelette and cooked just right ! Creamy beans, warm tortillas and all the trimmings were great, but the subtle star of the meal was the breakfast potatoes. Seasoned just enough to be extra flavorful, perfect crispiness on the outside but still soft and meaty on the inside. When you check out make sure your server gets the tip incase someone else rings up the ticket for you and spins the screen.

I leave cash tips at places like these just in case.

I didn't ask my servers name because I'm not weird, but she was instantly a top pick. I drove 3 hours to eat here.

The sweet tea is so friggin good here.

The smothered carne asada burrito is peak. The Carne Guisada Gordito is hands down the best in Alice, as far as restaurants go.

And I'll fite someone about that.

The crew was having a good time, and worked well together. The manager on duty had a sharp eye and was hospitality minded, smartly dressed...

El Jalisiense was fantastic. To start things off the chips and salsa were great, it's hard to beat homemade chips and salsa but El Jalisiense exceeded expectations. I ordered a carne asada Torta and al pastor tacos.

The service was incredibly quick and I got my meal before I finished half my chips. I ordered a lot of food because I thought that a 7$ torta probably wasn't going to be too big. Boy was I wrong. The torta filled up the entire plate and it was very delicious. The best part however was definitely the al pastor. I almost always get al pastor when I have the option and these were some of the best that I've had.

From the service too food, I highly recommend El Jalisiense and will be coming back next time...
