Morning Star Donuts — Restaurant in Allen

What more do you need to wake you up in the morning than these delicious donuts. Since my babies go to the day care center behind this place, we’ve always found ourselves visiting this donut shop every morning. When we walked in we can smell the fresh baked donuts and coffee brewing. We were always greeted with A big smile by the owner Miss Sunny, that’s what my kids call her. She has a wide selection of donuts, pigs in a blanket, cinnamon buns and many more. But her specialty is in donut decorating with the donut holes. She makes these delicious decorated donut holes of cartoon characters and holiday theme that my kids love. I have nothing bad to say about this place except that I’m getting fat. I come here...

Always a greeted with great friendly service each time I come for donuts and kolaches. My favorites are the jumbo jalapeño kolaches . I like that the rolls/bread part of the kolaches are not heavy or too doughy. The ratio of proteins to dough is just right . The small glazed donut designs are always so beautifully iced with love and I see it when my kids beg me to get the magical donut holes designed with them in mind . Give this place a try if you haven’t, you may become a regular here also. This is the only place that makes you smile first thing when you walk in because you’re greeted by a 8 foot tall giant...

This shop has been around for a while and I was a little surprised to see there was only one review. I just tried it for the first time and really liked it. The shop is clean and looks like your typical donut shop. The donuts are tasty and the "kolaches" (pigs in blankets) are good. Not too doughy like some other places. I was rather surprised to see they actually hand-paint donut holes with pictures of cartoon characters (attached a pic) and give them out free with your orders. I'll definitely go back.. especially since it's 2 minutes...
