This is all about your perspective. Will you find better Chinese food in the DFW area? Probably, but you will pay a bunch more. For it's location and price it is surprisingly good on all fronts. Lunch special at 5.50 with your choice of soup, eggroll, or soda is awesome. Try the lomein (they actually don't skimp out like most places and only give you the noodles at lunch, you get the rice too which I love to mix) or the hunan (made with black beans as opposed to a generic brown sauce like most places). They use small shrimp or big shrimp if you ask. We've been here now 10 times and every meal is good.
Off of the lunch special the basil noodles (mei fun) is also really good, and chicken on a stick, while not original, is precisely what it should be.
The only thing that is missing to recreate my old memories of amazing chinese in waco is a stone fire pit that comes out with beef on a stick for you to finish cooking it and enjoy the sizzles.
Pretty much everything I want at the...
Read moreAwful. Ordered online for “ASAP” at 7p. Didn’t receive any notification that my order was ready. I called at 8p asking the status of my order, the woman said it was ready. Inside the restaurant it reeked very strongly of sewage. My food was all luke warm. I told her I was in a hurry to get back, that the food is for my sick child. She kept going on about “I’m not going to call every person that makes an online order to tell them their order is ready bedside it can get busy here.” There was literally no customers there, and the employees were just standing around in the back. I had to cut her off from her rant just so she’d finally take my credit card that had been extended to her for the duration of her rant. Do not recommend. Their food grade was also completely hidden inside the restaurant out of site. Wish I had immediately turned around as soon as I went inside and smelled that horrible...
Read moreFor starters this place is a good spot to grab a quick lunch. As mentioned they are mostly a take out place, but you can eat there as well. There are a few tables but you can tell they have some years on them.
The most important thing of course is the food. It was good. I didn't have any complaints about it. The did forget to put an eggroll on the tray (we ate there) but they had it sitting there and were able to just hand it to me. The eggrolls are wrapped in wax paper so totally fine with that.
The service was good, they're a little defensive probably because of all of the people recently posting negative reviews. Once she could tell we were reasonable though she perked up and was friendly.
Parking was easy enough but I'm not sure if it gets busy or not. We got there around when it opened.
I'd definitely go back and recommend giving it a try. Typical good American...
