Disappointing Experience with Unprofessional Staff
I regret to say that my experience at this restaurant was far from pleasant. Traveling to Alpine with friends, we were excited to try your Thai food, especially since we have a vegan in our group and appreciated seeing vegan options on the menu. However, what could have been a great dining experience turned into a frustrating one due to an employee’s unprofessional and dismissive behavior.
We arrived on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 6:50 PM. The restaurant was busy, the weather was cold and rainy, and we were eager to warm up with a meal. I asked the front staff member—a heavyset woman with short, colored hair and glasses—whether we would be able to get a table. Her response was, “I don’t know,” followed by a suggestion that we sit outside or take our order to go. Her tone and gesture was cold and dismissive, and her demeanor made us feel unwelcome, even rolling eyes, as if we were a bother for even asking.
As a result, our group of five decided to leave, meaning the restaurant lost not just our business but also the opportunity to make a positive impression on travelers who might have recommended it to others.
I strongly believe this establishment would benefit from reevaluating its customer service standards. This employee’s behavior not only tarnished our experience but likely does the same for others. In the service industry, kindness and hospitality go a long way, and I sincerely hope the management takes this...
Read moreFried rice isn't actually fried, it's over cooked seasoned. 3 small pieces of chicken with nutmeg and 2 pineapples. Chicken was dry as was the rice. The absolute worst rice I've ever eaten. Shrimp spring rolls without shrimp, but they did have brown edged lettuce. Literally browning lettuce and carrots.
Was hungry later that night, thought I'd reheat the rice and give it another try. Bad move. Smelled like decaying animal. No hyperbole.
Definitely never going there again. Maybe it was an off day, I don't know, but I'm not sure how they could garner repeat business if the normal food quality is so bad.
Update April 2023:
Thought I'd give them another chance. Only customer around 11:10am. Ended up with 4lbs of overcooked rice noodles melted together with 3 shredded pieces of chicken about the 1"x1.5"
If you're hankering for noodles that have fused together and absolutely hate chicken, this is your place.
They're making a killing charging these prices for low quality. One would figure that they'd make some effort to be the best and serve the best, but the locals won't complain and willing pay for 4lbs of overcooked noodles.
I don't even think there was seasoning. Just noodles and a brief visit from a chicken. It's really bad- the...
Read moreI cannot express enough how much I love this place. The staff are genuinely friendly and so nice. This is my favorite pad thai and I genuinely try it everywhere I travel across the globe.
Seriously. Alpine - you don't know how lucky you are to have such a wonderful gem like Line Thai Cafe in your back yard. Whenever I am down here for work, I stop and eat here.
The Chrysanthemum and Honey tea/juice is DELICIOUS and refreshing.
The Pad Thai? My goodness. The veggies and bean sprouts are crispy and fresh EVERY TIME. No soggy veggies here, ladies and gentlemen! An apropriate amount of egg and just a whole mountain of truly filling and satisfying food is what you get.
Seriously. Dallas, Chicago, Austin, Burbank, OC, Minneapolis THE LIST GOES ON! I have traveled many places all over Texas and the USA and sampled Pad Thai of all kinds. This is my favorite.
Fried rice? HAVE SOME! Their Fried Rice is just as amazing with as much flavor and texture variety as the Pad Thai!
Sticky rice ice cream! Seriously! Try it! You won'r regret it!
Ima stop here cause I can go on for hours about this place. This is my fifth visit!...
