Domenico's — Restaurant in Altadena

With pickup and delivery becoming extremely popular out of necessity, I decided it was time to give an old stand-by a call. What a great experience! After I got the information from the recorded announcement, I ordered online. Even with my limited tech knowledge, it was easy. After about 5 minutes I received a call from Domenico's to double check my order. I had inadvertently ordered twice. I was very pleased at their thorough follow-up. The girl at the other end of line confirmed my order and indicated when it would be ready. I received text updates as the driver left the business and made his way to my location. It was an easy process. When he arrived,he was very courteous and made sure I had what  had been ordered.

Everything was packed in a sanitized way, and the food was still hot. I enjoyed the Big "D" special pizza and garlic bread with cheese. Their flavors were on point, and it was nice to have leftovers for another couple meals. I know everybody's very protective of their pizza preference, but this was excellent! It's nice to support a family-owned business with a great reputation. I will be ordering other items off the menu soon.

The food here was ok, but there are lots of better pizza places around. We ordered the family dinner, which included a salad, pizza, bread, and spaghetti. The salad came pre-dressed, which made it impossible to leave any for leftovers. The dressing tasted mostly like oil... Very little flavor, and the veggies weren't very flavorful either. Quite ho-hum. The pizza crust was soggy, though the sauce was nice. The spaghetti was probably the best part of the meal; I'd rate it a b+/a-.

But probably the thing that means I won't go back SAS the wait. Our food may very well have been ready by the promised time, but there was no information on the website (the only way you can order) that you need to get there at least 20 minutes ahead of you pick - up time to stand outside in the cold with only 1 person behind the counter filling orders. Yes, 20 minutes with only 5 people ahead of us in line. I felt sorry for the last person in line when we left, as there were at least 10 people waiting. Needless to say, we're not planning on returning...

I don’t know how this place got so many good reviews, but I came back from a heavy workout and was really hungry which usually means that whatever you eat is going to taste awesome but this place let me down big time. All the ingredients were favlorless, the dough is nothing special and the pizza is so packed with toppings that they don’t even cook properly. We order the XL and for some reason that comes cut Chicago style (squares) which is the worse type of cut for a pizza that with that many ingredients gets soggy and you can’t hold the slices without the ingredient falling all over from the floppy dough. To make matters worse there’s no dine in so you can’t even seat down to eat your pizza you have to figure it out yourself. This place is massively overrated and after paying almost $40 bucks for a pizza I’m definitely not...
