Jack & Georges — Restaurant in Altoona

stopped here on 7/3 for lunch on way home from a trip to the Finger Lakes. While we enjoyed our food, after taking money out of my purse at the table to pay the bill, I inadvertently dropped an envelope with over $400 cash, receipts from the weekend and a check in it. The restaurant was full, so someone had to see me drop it or the staff saw it when they cleaned the table. Later that day, when I got home and noticed the envelope was missing, I called the restaurant. The mgr I talked to told me they were busy and to call back in 30 minutes so he could call daylight mgr. I called back and was told "it slipped his mind to call" and to give him another 10 minutes. I called a third time and was rudely told by the girl who answered the phone, after supposedly checking with the mgr., "no nothing's here". I realize they were busy the day before a holiday, but to me, this was was upsetting to me - it was alot of money to loose and I was quite disappointed that no one turned it in. We live 1.5 hours away from the restaurant, so it was too far to drive back to check on the envelope, so calling was my only option. I called the restaurant again on 7/5 (since they were closed the day before) hoping someone would have had a change of conscience and turned it in. The daylight person that I talked to said she was working on 7/3 (daylight) and didn't see anything and no one turned in an envelope.

needless to say, even though our food was decent, we were very disappointed in the fact that someone would pocket that envelope and walk away; especially since contact info was in the envelope (on the check) and my name on the receipts, so someone could have gotten in touch with me or my friend who...

When we waited to sit someone told us to go to the table in the corner which wasn't a big deal finding. But when the waitress left us hanging for almost an hour, we ended up walking up to grab our own menus. When we asked for soda and waters she got pissed that we asked for both. Then when we asked can we please have some silverware she got a bad attitude again. I don't know why she was so mean maybe having a bad day, but still wasn't something I'd ever recommend anyone having to deal with. When our food came out one of the two people who got steak melts mentioned his sandwich only had one little piece of steak while the other was filled. We told the waitress and once again she got pissed and gave us a bad attitude repeating "what do you guys want here" and then explained that the sandwiches come with the steak that comes in the bag and that's what they get. Here's your other food.

She was just extremely mean and out of nowhere. We aren't all puppyish or entitled about stuff and tried being respectful but this waitress was awful.

The food was delicious and aside from the table being wet and sticky and floor sticky, it was a nice atmosphere. I'd say def worth a try if you're in the area, just be careful not to get the evil waitress because she ruined the whole...

Took my 21-year-old son here for the first time for drinks and some wings. Took forever to get somebody to wait on us, even though several waitresses were walking around ....they told us the bartender would finally be out. When he did , he said yeah there are no waitresses.!! Since we were sitting at a round table across from the bar. Sorry, NO....we didn't expect Someone to come to our table , but we waited forever for a bartender just to come ask us what we would like to drink. We asked for menus and the bartender asked us from behind the bar what we wanted to drink so I walked up to the bar and told him what we wanted. And of course he carded my son which was great because he just turned 21. The bartender seamed to have an attitude. My son did not even want to stay for his first drinks being 21 with his mama. When the bartender finally had time to ask us what we wanted to order for food, my son said I don't want to stay, we will just get some wings and leave. Then it seemed to take forever just to get the bartenders attention to get us to order our wings. I live very close to this establishment and have been here maybe a dozen times. My son unfortunately being new to the bar scene said he will never be back again....
