We all know on any given day most people's favorite go to food is Italian: Pizza, Strombolis and/or calzones. In Altoona Pennsylvania You'll find that the BEST, GREATlY PORTIONED with REMARKABLE PRICES is MAMA RANDANZZO'S. Just beginning with those 3 items they are half the town's favorite with out a doubt. Now if you're unfortunately like my Aunt who can not have garlic because she is allergic ( horrible I know) they have no problem accommodating your needs to better enjoy your meal & experience. Or if you are like me who can't have red sauces, they still have a wonderful variety of foods to choose from. I definitely love their Alfredo gnocchi or tortellini ( which ever you prefer) a definite must try. Trust me, I would like to you, I am picky with food in general especially when it comes to others cooking it especially Alfredo sauce. Plus they have a seasonal Mac n cheese that will make you miss your grandma's home cooked meals. Now if you are more of meat person they have great subs, steaks and chicken tenders. You know it' has to be true when 2 non meat eaters love it. Want something a little healthier not a problem, their Steak Salad & Chicken Cesar Salad with a side of fresh bread sticks are fantastic. It's by far family oriented Paul & Mama RANDANZZO make sure of that. They have a little bar area you can sit at have a drink with your meal maybe watch a game on TV or you could even just relax and have a drink while you're waiting for your take out. Before you ask if course they deliver. Have an event coming up? Can't find a catering company you like? Look no further Mama RANDANZZO'S also does catering, by the the time your event is over everyone will be full and happy. Most of all your event will be one everyone remembers. Why are all you still sitting around, get over to Mama RANDANZZO'S you family and stomach...
Read morePizza’s okay, but getting toppings skyrockets the price — No specialty pizzas like supreme or meat lovers, but BUFF¬ALO CHICKEN, WHITE, MARGARITA, HONEY BBQ CHICKEN.
Cheese steak sub’s okay — The waitress asked “Would like to add a house dressing?” W/O saying it’s $1.50 more & was mostly oil with season that didn’t mix. They have ranch but was never offered – WHY? I complained about the surprise dressing surcharge & waitress didn’t apologize but got an attitude, other staff apologized. Waitress said “…but next time we’ll have charge you”. Earlier asked for a water which she put at the end of the table with a thunk & kept walking.
The nice pasta meals seem to be the best offer, and side salad was only $2.50 (but a dressing is $1.50?). BTW Online Menu: “Add A Side Of Dressing To Any Sub For 1.25”.
A very nice sit in area, parking across the street & behind. I have to be honest; like to give a better ★ ★ ★ rating but folks need know true opinions. Nice atmosphere, some meals are very good, it’s your call to figure out what you want. Wasn’t entirely impressed, no plans to patronize soon, but pasta would be the pick. Had better subs &...
Read moreI lived in Altoona for a while during undergrad and frequented this place a lot. A nice local italian family owned restaurant. So why the three stars? Last time we went unfortunately the food was a miss and honestly not just this last time but the time before as well. I loved this spot so I had to give it another go but it disappointed the group. I had a cheese steak Stromboli. As far as I could tell, there was no steak.. just cheese. So much cheese that it was inedible. How? Cheese is delicious?! Well not when there's about 3 cups of melted cheese and the main attraction (the steak) was no where to be found. My baby got the spaghetti and meatball...The meatball, I'm so sorry to say! Was bland! How?! No garlic? Not enough? No parm cheese? No herbs?? The horror. We had to salt everything for flavor. My son loved his chicken tenders though! Lol if they had messed up pulling a tender from a plastic bag and dropping it in hot oil... this would have been a 1 star review. Thankful for...
