Talerico's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Ambridge

We’ve lived near here for DECADES and have somehow not been here until recently. Such a waste. If you like bar food, this place is for you. My advice to you: Belly up to the bar, get a draft beer (decent choices), order takeout from their wide-ranging menu, and, whatever you’ve ordered, it’ll be delicious and filling, and you’ll likely get another meal out of it somehow, because the portions are generous. Yeah, there’s smoking allowed at the main bar, but I must admit, those smoke eater fans work really well. Plus, if you’re getting takeout, who cares? You’ll be home soon. Go. Then go home. Enjoy. Repeat.

6 months later … still 5 stars. But … My bride n I both decided to get mashed potatoes as a side ($4). I wanted gravy on the side; my bride did not. But I thought, order a side of gravy for both, because, free gravy, amirite? EXCEPT, a side of gravy turned out to be $1.50 each. #TheMoreYouKnow . In the scheme of things, no big deal. But be aware. Tal's has been an Ambridge staple since I was a teenager (about 20 years [Yikes!]), and with good reason. I can virtually guarantee two things to any first timer--decent food and a fair price. It's nothing special, but they are absolutely consistent. The food is typical bar food, but it's never fu**ed up. Wings, salads, soups, burgers etc... All are properly executed, every time. The service is friendly, and, despite always being pretty busy, even on weekdays, they are fast.

They also cater to both smokers and non-smokers. If you want to smoke, you can. If you can't stand smoke, their back section is smoke-free and well sequestered from the front (which is well ventilated by overhead exhaust fans), so you won't even smell it. No other bar in the area can make this claim.

Where Ambridge bars are concerned, believe me, I've tried them all. Tal's is always a safe bet. It's hardly fine dining, but they know their business, and they do what they do very well. As long as your expectations are reasonable, you won't be...

Seriously? Last time the waitress took my response of no thank you as the ok to put water in my glass and got it all over my phone. This time though? Took all the kids again, she brought a child hot garlic wings wrongfully, she tried to bring ranch and blue cheese after she charged is for it but didn't bring it with our order, she dodgy check on our table at all and found out this out when she brought the check. She didn't know the drinks were terrible but brought my man a second one them disappeared. The wings were stiff all the way through and she food nothing to make our bill reflect her apology. We will not go back, we tipped 1$ because she couldn't even apologize about anything without stumbling and trying to bring us dressing cups after we finished eating to avoid having to rering the dinner reciept.
