1/28/24 For lunch today, I tried the steak a la mexicana. It's very bland and not at all what I expected. Everything tastes the same and there was very little steak but plenty of vegetables. The rice is also very soupy from the canned tomatoes. As soon as I ordered the food, I left to go pick it up. It was not at all hot or warm! A big disappointment. I haven't been here in a while. It will be while before I go back, if I decide to go back! I should have gone with Taco Rey, as I started to.

I ordered the mojarra frita, French fries, and the lime for the fish only, because I don't like the sides that comes with the dish. Neither do I like the flour tortillas. She called back the order, which was correct. Tell me why when I get the meal home, the fish is BURNT. The fries are old and soggy. There were not any lime as requested. I had the floured tortillas and rice, that I did not want, and the chips that I did not want. Also my order was $17 and some change. She gave me $2, but no change. I stood there waiting on my change. She had the audacity to say we gave no change. The restaurant was full. So you mean to tell me as packed as you all were, you were going to tell all your guests that needed change, that you had no change. I'm sure if I was short of change paying for my meal, that you would not have given mental. But, you seem to think it's ok not to give me my change!!!! On top of giving me BURNT, overcooked fish and stale, soggy fries. I called to speak with a manager, after I got the food home. I was placed on hold. No one ever came on. I called back, and still the same. I wasn't where I could go back. Normally, the service and the food is good! But, they fell very short today. This review will not go away until I get a refund. A very short, young, petite young girl waited on me. Don't serve your customers anything, and expect them to just accept it. Take pride in your job, and what you serve your guests. If you have a to-go order, CHECK IT BEFORE YOU LEAVE. 1/13/23 I tried the Ceviche for the very 1st time ever. There's so much lime/lemon juice that it's too tart, and bitter to eat. There's not much food on the dish. $21.99 Before tax is way too much for this dish! I definitely do not recommend!!! It's like a shock tart. After posting this review, I called and spoke with the manager. I explained that it was too tart to eat. He apologized and said "The next time you order it, we'll be sure to cook it right"! He didn't ask me to bring the dish back or did he offer a refund. He seems to value the dollar, rather than satisfying the customer!!! No more to-go...

The owner literally has kids as managers. I ordered food last night and asked for it a specific way, it came out wrong. I sent the food back, the waiter takes the plate and walks around with it. Brings it back with some high schooler in all black (dressed like the managers are normally). He asked if I was allergic to anything on the plate, I said no. He then proceeds to say, “you’re all good then” and attempts to walk away. I said no, sent the order back. A few minutes later, a young females comes back and asked who ordered the food sent back and wants to know if I want to order something else, I tell her no and she turns walks away. A few minutes she comes back with the owner, he apologizes and asked what happened and can he retake our order, the party with ordered AGAIN, by then I lost my appetite and decline.

I take my child to look at the Christmas decorations while waiting for my party to finish eating and the younger ‘manager’ and two the other workers are joking loudly about what he said to me. I tell the owner and he says, “show me who and I’ll fire them!” I show him, he tells them he will talk to them later. My party finishes their meal, one of which, order was still wrong, he charged them full price and then wishes us a good evening!

Good luck with your experience there, this place is going downhill and I will never...

Got takeout asked for a Texas fajita, no steak just chicken and shrimp….got all 3 meats (went over it more than once with the girl who took my order and she even repeated the whole order back to me at the end and she said it perfectly) they asked me corn or flour for the tortillas I said corn I got flour. The food tasted very off from usual and not in a good way. There was so much grease in the tin foil pan that held the meats I had to pour it out in a nearby cup to throw away. The whole takeout looks like it was sort of just plopped into the carry out bag the bottom pan that held the rice and whatnot was crushed in by the meat pan. There was grease splattered on the outside of the carryout bag somehow before I even took the food out. I’m not sure how busy takeout was but the inside was far less busy than a usual Saturday crowd around 7:30pm-7:50pm. I have no idea how it got messed up when she seemed to know what I ordered from the screen since she again repeated it back to me perfectly at the end of the call. No hate I just hope it’s better next time and orders are checked over to make sure it’s right before...

The building 1800 is in is beautiful and the decor isn't overwhelming, but is upscale Mexican. The lights flicker which made me wonder if there was a short some where. The service left a lot to be desired. I had to ask to be seated even though they have a sign that says Please Wait To Seated. No one seemed interested in seating us and the restaurant wasn't busy. The waitress acted as though she had never waited tables before and about halfway through our meal she disappeared. We never saw her again. The manager waited on us through the rest of our meal. The margaritas and food were good. They have a huge variety on the menu. A lot of dishes I've never seen in a Mexican restaurant and a large selection with seafood. The food was served hot and had a good taste. Not completely Mexican, but more like Mexican American. It wasn't one of my favorite places, but I would try it again. My biggest hesitation with going back would be the service.

Just a little constructive criticism from my experience sitting at the bar on Mother’s Day Sunday. Bar area definitely needs cleaned, smells like throw-up. Walls are very dirty, slipping all over the floor when walking. Seriously though. TV and bar screen was filthy. Tortilla chips are really thin, so when using with guacamole dip, like I did, broke very easily. Also, chips being thin lead to a whole basket of just crumbs. Bar tender was kinda out of it, meaning we had to ask for everything including a menu. This was my first visit, so based on the condition of the bar I didn’t order food. Customer next to me had burger that was brought out with ketchup and mustard packets placed directly on top of French fries. Also, the waiter just ran his hands through his hair then picked up a lime and put in a margarita, as I’m writing this.
