I did not see the deliciousness that was Craft Bowl coming! In a small strip at the heart of Anaheim, Craft Bowl offers a chipotle style build-your-own bowl experience with Korean flavors (Bulgogi, Kimchi, etc ) and a couple of American-Mexican twists (black olives, sour cream!). My bowl of choice was the Bulgogi, with a bed of super greens and rice. For toppings, I wasn't as bold, sticking to Kimchi and corn, and purple cabbage. At the last minute, I decided to go a little wild and add in their Salsa, which is not something I would think to add to a Korean style dish. I threw in some side sauces of Jalapeño mayo and the Habanero - another set of sauces I wouldn't associate with Korean foods. But I needed to trust the Craft Bowl's menu. And let me tell you, I am so glad that I did :). Not only was the rice cooked perfectly and the Bulgogi meat unexpectedly tender and "not too sweet" (the biggest compliment from an Asian foodie), but the toppings were all fresh and layered on nicely with the rest of the bowl - including the Salsa, which had a pleasant pickled flavor. I would also buy jars of the sauces - these folks know how to make spicy sauces!! I was practically slurping up the Habanero sauce by the end; the flavors worked incredibly well with the rest of the bowl too. You may want to spice things up with a Regular Tteokbokki bowl too. My partner, who is not typically a Tteokbokki fan, ate it up! The rice cakes were very tender - freshly cooked to order, and the sauce was perfectly balanced with savory and spicy. Many Tteokbokki are cloyingly sweet, but the Craft Bowl killed it here. The grilled onions, scrambled eggs, cabbage, and cheese gave a nice bit of texture and additional layers of flavor to the dish. My only wish next time would be to get a little cabbage next time to level up the crunch in the bowl. A fantastic offering by the Craft Bowl team, and I got to experience this in part thanks to a special one through Yelp so I am very grateful. The prices are very reasonable, and parking is plenty so very accessible as well. To top it off, the staff was very friendly, quick, and patient. Excited to discover another fire (in taste and execution!) find. If you're in Anaheim for any reason, you will be glad you dropped by Craft Bowl - make sure to load up on their home made sauces 🔥🔥!

The food combination here is crazy. I was curious about what Korean-style Chipotle would taste like. The harmony of seasoned Korean proteins and the toppings offered here was really delicious. The bulgogi and pork bulgogi seasonings were not too salty, which was great. Especially, the bulgogi fries are highly recommended. The combination of french fries, grilled kimchi, grilled onion, salsa and sour cream was beyond imagination. Just talking about it makes me want to eat it again. The price was very good and the portion was generous, making it a satisfying meal. When I visited, they had just started offering glass noodles, but it wasn't on the menu yet, so it was only available to walk-in customers. I had half white rice and half glass noodles, which turned out to be a great choice. Additionally, they make six types of sauces here, ranging from non-spicy to very spicy, in six levels. Among them, I found the jalapeno mayo sauce and Thai chili sauce to be delicious. See the photo for the types of sauces. Especially, the combination of bulgogi fries and that chili sauce was perfect. Highly recommended for those who love spicy food!

A new restaurant in town, chef owned and operated, thecraftbowl is a great spot to grab a self crafted KBBQ style bowl choosing your protein, rice (or salad) and fresh toppings. Each bowl is made to order and how you like. Available proteins include: Beef bulgogi Spicy pork bulgogi Chicken bulgogi Popcorn fried chicken They also have the fun and yummy potato tornado available! See store details for a free one! My favorite, thecraftbowl has their homemade sauces! I kept trying one after another and I simply cannot decide my favorite. I will say I would love a container of each to take home! I was thinking ooo this spicy mayo is so good I’d love it on my Sammie. This habanero sauce is a perfect one for just about any dunking and the Thai sauce would be amazing on a burrito. I’m telling you, you will fall in love with their sauces! You will have to go back for more bowls to try and see which is your favorite craft bowl sauce! Go build your own bowl, get a free potato tornado (details in store) and find your favorite homemade sauce!
