First time here, decided I wanted to come here as a treat after surgery (you know how you can't eat before a surgery after usually like midnight the night before) I had seen this place on the map while just looking at the route I had to take to get to a plant sale I went to a few days earlier, looked it up and it seemed to have good reviews and the pictures of the food along with the reviews looked really good 😍. So we came here and it was surprisingly empty, the waitress said it was weird they're normally super busy around that time- we were the only people there- but she made jokes about it and she was super nice and helpful and since we were the only ones there at the time she just sat with us, didn't walk away, waited until we were ready, answered any questions we had. I was so hungry and the food looked so good that I forgot to take any pictures before I started eating, but I can assure you it doesn't even matter how good it looked, it was delicious. I had a 2 chile relleno plate, my dad I think had two tacos. Our friend had one taco. All plates came with rice and beans. Now, I'm not normally a bean person. At restaurants, I'll usually try the beans but more often than not I'll just eat my rice and leave most of the beans. El Farolito has the best refried beans I have ever had. I don't even like when my dad makes beans (Don't tell him) but I could literally just order a plate of rice and beans and some chips and be happy, that's how good they are. In addition to the good food, they have a self serve salsa station, so they have their salsas there as well as cilantro, diced onion, and lime, which is really nice to not have to ask for at a sit down Mexican restaurant, that way you can choose which salsas you want and what and how much garnishings you need etc. More people came into the restaurant as we ate, so maybe we were just a bit early to the lunch rush, who knows 😉? Either way, I definitely reccomend. If you've eaten at Mexicasa before, they're definitely more pricey than they are but the food reminds me of their menu. RIP Mexicasa, shuttered by covid, yet to return.... eat at El Farolito Jr. to fill the void! Makes a great comfort food...

I do not usually say this, but El Farolito Jr in Anaheim might just be the undisputed taco champ of North Orange County. The Al Pastor Tacos? Ridiculous. Stacked to the sky with perfectly seasoned meat. I had to pause mid bite just to process how generous they were. Most places give you a sad scoop. These folks go all in.
And it is not just the tacos that hit. That salsa bar is a full blown flavor playground. Everything pickled, everything spicy, everything delicious. It is the upgrade you did not know your plate needed.
We got a cheese and carne asada quesadilla, and my son, an eight year old quesadilla connoisseur, said it was the tastiest he has ever had. Melty, beefy, grilled just right. Even the chicken nuggets and fries for my daughter hit way harder than expected. And the chicken and cheese enchiladas with green sauce? Do not sleep on those. Just like the tacos, they were stacked with meat. Every bite was bold, savory, and comforting.
Inside, El Farolito Jr has that cozy old school charm. Kind of like a homey saloon with TVs and a lively energy. You walk in and feel like a regular from the start. Service was welcoming. Prices? Way better than expected for how much food we got. You leave full, happy, and not even mad at the check.
Q: What should you order at El Farolito Jr?
A: The Al Pastor Tacos are a must. They come up in almost every single review, and for good reason. Insane portions, full flavor, and made with love.
Q: What else do people recommend?
A: Reviewers also go wild for the Chile Relleno, Menudo, and the Campechana Burrito. If you are hungry enough, stack the order.
Pro Tips: • Show up early. This place fills up fast. • Hit the salsa bar hard. It is packed with flavor bombs. • Portions are huge. Come hungry or bring backup.
Final Word: This is not just a taco spot. It is a full on flavor experience. If you are anywhere near Anaheim and you skip El Farolito Jr, you are missing out. Get in there and thank...

They should rename it to “Gigante” because it’s huge! The tortilla chips are thick and sturdy to scoop up everything with a great toasted corn flavor. They are very generous on the carne asada. One of the best supreme nachos ever! Thumbs up, way up!
#25 Chile con Carne Plate is tender pieces of tasty pork in their own custom sauce. The pork was so tender that it just fell apart with a touch of the fork. The sauce is full of explosive flavor. The rice is the best in town. They’ve spent a lot time on the rice where most restaurants don't. Thumbs up!
#67 Chile Rellenos Plate is served with rice and beans, and choice of flour or corn tortillas. The chile rellenos looked great with sauce slathered on top. But the taste was just okay - not the best and not the worst. The refried beans, however, were awesome - great flavor with melted cheese on top.
Al Pastor Tacos are served up like typical street tacos with the double mini corn tortillas. They also have a self-serve salsa bar with a variety of different sauces, pico de gallo, onions, cilantro, and lime. The Al Pastor is roasted fresh right by the front door. The scent is so wonderful, you can’t help but get some. The meat is super-flavorful and juicy. The meat serving is very generous too. Thumbs up, way up!
Carne Asada Tacos are bueno. The meat is juicy and the serving is generous. Thumbs up!
Lengua Tacos are muy bueno. The meat is so flavorful, juicy, tender, and the portion is generous! This is my favorite! Thumbs up, way up!
Cabeza Tacos are bueno. The meat is tender, juicy, flavorful, and has a little collagen stickiness which is good for your...
