Ok. This is my first time eating from here and my order was a take out. I had been craving hibachi style seafood and was a bit on the fence about shrimp vs lobster. I went with lobster. My order came with lobster, fried rice which had egg and green onions in it as well as a side of veggies that included broccoli, mushrooms and zucchini. I requested well done veggies and they were cooked as ordered. However, the veggies were slightly dry. No butter or oil. Only the parts with sauce had the best texture. However, the sauce was just, a thick teriyaki sauce, so it was just sweet with no depth of flavor, unlike my usual hibachi. The lobster was cooked well and chopped, tossed in sauce and presented in shell. However, again; just thick teriyaki sweet sauce. The meal comes with 2 tails but only one tail shell was on my plate. However, being familiar with the amount of meat that comes in a tail, I do believe they cooked both and put the meat of both in one shell for plating. The lobster was cooked very well and tender, however, the sweet took over and had no depth in flavor. The rice however was perfect! It did not need extra sauce though a lot of it got on my rice anyway from what was on the other food. The portion size was good but my my lobster hibachi was still 30.00 after tax but i think for shrimp its only 20.00 for the meal. It is a small diner place with very little traffic so I was happy to be able to get in and out with no hassle. My suggestions would be to NOT oversaturate food in thick teriyaki but balance flavors between a good quality soy sauce, teriyaki and season like they do at Ichiban or Nagoya. Also the veggies should be appealing to the eyes and not dry looking.. For the take away: No thick sugar sauce but a well balanced savory of sweet salty and acidity. No dry veggies, a little butter helps everything. Add a soup side like clear with mushrooms. A fortune cookie and chopsticks would be nice for takeout orders also . My kids love attempts at using them. I think I will order there again but I will be specific about how I want my food cooked next time bc i do believe they will pepare it the way you ask. I would still...
Read moreGreat food for the price... well a few months ago. So they went with a new menu layout which I understand. Things are getting more expensive. More pricey for supplies. Understandable. They changed the format where it's a bit more expensive but reasonable. I just ordered something that I usually don't. My go-to's when I'm feeling like spending is the filet mignon, chicken, shrimp plate. They usually goes for about 60 dollars. This time I just wanted to do fish which is the salmon. I took a photo of their old menu and compared the prices from the very old menu, to their new style, and now the up prices that they have. It's way too overpriced now. For salmon plate I'm literally paying $ $40 with no upgrades. It used to be 23 and that's when they made the new menu layout so it's not from the old prices. I ordered it. They made it. I'll pay for it because that's the right thing to do, but until they go down on their prices this will be the last time. Great food. Great place. Problem overly expensive at least now they are. Until they change their prices or format this will be the last time in a long time. This is not a place you eat at once in a while now this is a place you eat at...
Read moreKept purchasing the lobster plate and would get only ONE LOBSTER. I later looked at the menu and realized that the duo plates were cheaper than the singular lobster plate. I asked the cashier if the lobster plate comes with one or two lobsters, HE SAID IT CAME WITH ONE, so i asked why the duo plate of steak and lobster gets steak AND a lobster tail and is CHEAPER than the (one) lobster tail plate. The cashier said he would ask his boss, and his boss said its supposed to be two lobster tails. I told the cashier that not only was he not aware of that, but other employees arent aware of this, as i purchased the lobster plate multiple times and only received ONE LOBSTER TAIL. I told the cashier how ive been receiving only ONE lobster tail multiple times when ive come here. The cashier shrugged his shoulders and kept repeating “yeah i dont know….”. He didnt offer any assistance or concern of the fraudulence lf this restaurant. BEWARE SPENDING $70 just to receive half of your order as this restaurant doesnt care about...
