My family and I have been loyal customers for more than 20 years. Our family ranges from 7 to 20 guests when we go. We have gone to Anaheim, Buena Park and Orange locations every weekend! The customer service used to be great, food was hot and tasty and I didn't mind the price because they used to give good size portions so it was worth it. But not anymore! We will no longer be coming here after our last visit! Pauls Place really let us down. I really hope the owner reads this to better understand the situation. Poor Management and Customer Service.
I placed an order on the phone so we would wait less time at the restaurant. When we got there we paid for our food and waited patiently on the patio to dine out. There was a long line of cars in the drive thru, so I was glad I phoned ahead of time for our food. After 20 mins, My husband and I went in and noticed our food in to go boxes were just sitting on the back counter. We asked if we can get our food so it wouldn't get cold and some of us could start eating. The staff said they were still getting stuff together and would have it out shortly. We waited. The boxes never got touched. We saw them attending the drive thru customers and prepping other food orders and we were completely ignored. We tried to understand how busy it was. We asked again after 20 mins, what was the hold up. The manager was working on our last plate and then they would give us all our food "together". We asked if we can just get the boxes sitting there. Again we were told it would be out shortly. We told them, "No please give it to us, its just sitting there and its probably cold." They grab it, still go through it slowly to check if everything's in there, while we wait patiently hungry and upset. We take our food and set up outside on the patio. We notice the food is really cold like leftovers. I go inside and ask how much longer for the other plate and get told 5 more minutes! I ask to speak with the manager. The staff tells me she's busy. I let them know I really need to speak with her. She turns around upset. I explain to her about our cold food, waiting so long and how they didn't make our last plate of food until the drive thru line was taken care of. She just says they were busy and shes working on my last plate now. I wasn't sure if she didn't understand or simply did not care so I repeat myself. She just stares at me and says there's nothing she could do and turns around. I wait really upset that my family is eating cold food outside and don't know how much longer they will take if I ask them to remake it. She finally finishes my last box of food. hands it to her staff, and says nothing. No smile, no apology, no resolution for our cold food, no future offer for our inconvenience so that we come back, no customer service, no respect for the 20 plus years I have come with my family and chose to spend our time and money here. Felt like I was booted out the door.
I recently spoke with the owner over the phone. The manager apparently told him I was just waiting on some fries, thats it. That's their story. He said he would check the cameras and look into it. I hope. Taking our...
Read morebefore i go into my review. i think it is imperative that the owner/s of this family owned business read the review from google review and yelp. my review as true as it is could be seen as fluff by another. however if everyone is screaming fire then chances are there is a fire and no one is being dramatic. thats the situation here if they want to improve as a business they need to look into this situation as the community is trying to help.
Okay so after being a regular patron 4 years ago we had a very bad experience with the gm of this loaction. Inwhich they messed up an order that extras were payed for and were completely left out. She was very rude called us a liar and refused to refund us. Then laughed at for wanting to talk to the owners of the business since it is family owned telling us good luck getting ahold of him. In the end we got a hold of him got our refund and we stopped coming to pails place all together.
Today we decided to give it another shot. The drive thru was busy so we went inside with one person in front of us. In the time it took to get one pastrami sandwhich we waited for forty minutes. The entire drive thru cleared out, four different people came in with bigger orders and no one was taking us seriously when we were asking were are food was. They just kept going let me check on it and working on other orders without even talking amongst each other. We saw them 22 minutes later restock the pastrami from a pan they were warming in the back. Make the sandwhich and leave it on the counter for another 4 minutes while they rung up customers. I asked to talk to a manager as they arent following or directing social distancing trying to have me walk in a cluster of people, but werent communicating with us about our order. one of the employees told the manager she called us 4 times even though my wife asked about the food and we watched them make it and leave it sit on the counter. She was very rude saying she remembered me and has a problem with me, raising her voice and just didnt care. kept saying she couldnt hear us but refused to remove the airpod she had in her ear. She is extremely rude and has no bussiness being a gm if she cannot properly handle customer relations let alone lead her team.
If this is the kind of managment that is employed, by this family owned business. Then it shows a lack of care for its guest and will continue to not have our patronage of 7 people ordering big orders. Im an Assistant manager myself at a restaurant myself, and have been in the industry for 6 years. To not communicate wheb asked for help and to be as rude as she was is...
Read moreI am normally not an angry person, but tonight I am pissed and I am DONE with this place. The cooks and staff don't care at all about the quality of the food they cook at this location. There is a bit of history here and I have given this place several chances, but tonight finally did me in. I ordered a carne asada quesadilla without the lettuce and tomatoes they usually put in the box with the quesadilla. The lettuce and tomatoes make the tortilla soggy and wet.
When I got home, I opened the container and saw a very thick grease slick pooled up on the bottom. The bottom of the quesadilla was literally SOAKED in grease. It was disgusting. I tried putting it on paper towels to try to wick away some of the grease. When I finally took a bite. MORE grease oozed out and ran down my hand.
Recently, I ordered a salad and there was a lot of water pooled on the bottom of the container.
This location no longer makes Feta Fries properly. They are supposed to use thin slices potato, griddle then, and put a small amount of crumbled Feta cheese and herbs on it. The past several months, this location has been simply making regular French fries and then putting gobs of Feta cheese on it. It's not the same and the amount of Feta is excessive, making the dish overly salty.
Recently. I've had several burgers with wet soggy bread because they do not drain the lettuce properly. Disgusting!
It pisses me off when employees are getting paid well over $15 an hour with benefits, which drives up prices, and they do not care at all about the food they are serving to people.
The photos I'm including do not do it justice. The grease is so much more...
