This was my first time going to Firehouse Sub's, and the verdict is I absolutely will be going back! Here is my experience...This has been a really rough week financially for me and my boyfriend so needless to say we were broke. So broke that he had been eating eggs for breakfast and dinner all week and I was living on cereal. I was going through my purse and found a Firehouse Sub's gift card we were given months ago and had forgotten about...so I decided I was gonna go by Firehouse on my way to pick up my boyfriend from work and surprise him with something other than eggs for dinner. This was about 8:20pm and they close at 9 so I got in my car and hurried over there to walk up to the door at 8:40 only to find it locked and realized the open sign was off. An employee noticed me and he came over to the door and opened it to tell me they had just closed early due to being short staffed. Tears literally started to come up in my eyes and I told him how I had just drove there and how I was trying to surprise my boyfriend with something other than eggs. Well I guess he could hear it in my voice how sad this mad me because he asked me what I was going to order and when I told him the sweet and spicy meatball he told me well come on in because we haven't put the meatballs away yet and proceeded to make me 2 meatball sandwiches. His name was Alahondro ( hopefully I spelled it right) and he was awesome. He went above and beyond and his customer service was impeccable. To often these days people just don't go that extra step and I have really seen customer service everywhere get worse and worse but that was not the case at Firehouse Sub's on Magnolia. 5 ⭐ for customer service and 5 ⭐ for the food because that sandwich was off the chain! That had to be the best meatball sandwich I have ever had. So thank you Alahondro and the to rest of the staff for letting me in and helping me surprise my boyfriend who was super happy! You made this rough week just a little...
Read moreI've been a fan of Firehouse Subs and this location for a while. The variety on the menu is excellent, and I appreciate the different sandwich sizes.
A few of my recent favorites are the specialty clubs. The Hook & Ladder collaboration with Hot Ones, although the spiciness was a little disappointing, the regular Hook & Ladder is tasty. The Firehouse Steak and Cheese, Firehouse Meatball, and Turkey Ranch Bacon are also excellent and flavorful options.
Don't forget to try out the hot sauces to amp up the flavor of your sandwiches. There is a display showing pairing ideas, as well as staff recommendations.
It's always busy here, so I order ahead through the mobile app for pickup. My orders have always been made on time, and the rewards and special offers are a nice incentive. Prices are unfortunately increasing, but it's still a nice treat.
The staff is friendly and hardworking. The dining area is relatively clean and spacious. Outdoor tables with shade...
Read moreThe sandwiches are photogenic, and the customer facing staff are decent - but it takes over twenty minutes to make two sandwiches during off hours, neither of which could by any stretch of some fever induced delirium imagination be considered anything even remotely resemble a 'sub.' When eaten immediately after set on the counter, the Italian sandwich here is a soggy and bland mess of waxy cheese and an amorphous blob of nondescript but overly sweet cold cuts served in some manner of bastardized roll cut cleanly (but not evenly) in half lengthwise, and equally unevenly widthwise.
The Mac and cheese is a half empty cup of lightly cheese flavored water with disintegrating macaroni noodles half floating around. Best eaten with the provided fork so as to fish the subtle cheese water soaked noodles without drinking the soup.
The pickles provided...
