If you’re tired of the usual burgers, fries, and fried chicken, and looking for something different during the midnight then you’ll love this spot!
Just 5-8 minutes away from Disneyland, Soup Shop is a Vietnamese pho chain in Anaheim that stays opened until 1:30 AM. It’s the perfect place to warm up with a bowl of pho for a late-night snack.
What Makes This Place Special: ▶️ Late-Night Hours: Open until 1:30 AM, which is a huge plus.
▶️ Customizable Pho: You can choose between vegetable or beef broth, and for the chicken pho, they offer both breast and thigh meat options. This is great for those who don’t eat beef, are health-conscious, or just want a break from Western fast food. They also serve fried rice, spring rolls, fried dumplings, and drinks like boba tea, Thai tea, Vietnamese coffee, and passion fruit juice.
▶️ Generous Portions: The servings are quite substantial, so even the guys won’t leave hungry.
▶️ Good Service: The staff are polite and apologetic if there’s a wait, which we appreciated.
▶️ Great Value: In the expensive world of Southern California dining, the prices here are surprisingly reasonable. A bowl of pho ranges from $12.95 to $17.95: PHO RIB BONES (2 PCS) $15.95 PHO CHICKEN $14.95 PHO SHRIMP $14.95
Things to Consider: The restaurant is not very spacious with about 16 tables, and it gets busier as the night goes on. We visited on a day when they were short-staffed in the kitchen, so even though there were empty tables, people were made to wait outside. We started waiting at 9:50 PM, got seated around 10:20 PM, and didn’t get our pho until 10:40 PM—almost an hour wait! By the time we finished dining, it was close to midnight, but the place was still buzzing with people coming in and out. Overall, it was a decent experience, and I hope the staffing issue was just the one-time thing though.

Read moreFood (4/5) Their food was really good. Honestly, the best pho I’ve had out here by far. The bao buns are so juicy and flavorful. They were amazing! The pho was delicious as well, but the only thing that gives it less stars is because they put an incredible amount of onions 😅 I like onions as much as the next person but they had to have garnished with an entire half an onion! The flavor is there, though. Maybe just ask for light onion? Another thing that took it down a bit was the Vietnamese iced coffee. They put coffee creamer in it and it wasn’t my favorite. Somehow the creamer gave it a fattier taste and we couldn’t finish it.
Ambience (4/5) The setting was cute! A small restaurant with ample seating. The booth seating is new and in good condition. Very clean spot!
Service (5/5) Amazing customer service! We had never been treated so well at a pho spot. The waitress walked us through our options and explained things very thoroughly. She was very kind and we appreciate it greatly!
Price (3.5/5) The price was the most shocking aspect but I understand a shop has to live! I’m just used to bowls of pho being ~$10/bowl and I believe theirs was $14-$16/bowl. That being said, the food was delicious so maybe that evens out the cost? 😋
Final Score (4/5) It’s ultimately a very good spot! The food tastes delicious! However, a liiiiiittle too much onion and also the Vietnamese iced coffee should probably not be made with creamer. Also, the price is a bit high but it’s worth it for good...
Read moreWe Had a terrible experience here maybe one of the worse experiences we had eating out in years with one of the other servers making us pretty uncomfortable. The food was good but the service was terrible. Specifically had a terrible experience with Tommy. He wasn’t our server but we paid using a card and he brought the receipt. Then proceeded to stare at us repeatedly. We hadn’t finished our drinks and he kept asking us if we were done and then kept staring. We kindly let him know it made us uncomfortable and he responded rudely. He was talking about us and staring at us with another server. The manager Annie said it’s okay that he was staring and making us uncomfortable and he kept asking repeatedly if we were done every minute. We had maybe finished our food 5 mins before this and every minute after he would come over to ask if we were leaving soon. That alone made us uncomfortable and the staring made it even more uncomfortable. The manager Annie did apologize but said it was okay that he was staring at us and that he just wanted to make room for a bigger party. We had just finished our meal and still had half our drinks left. While their food is good there service is terrible and how they think it’s okay to treat customers is wrong. I would highly suggest everyone avoid this place as they think it’s okay to act strange towards their customers. I’ve worked in the service industry for years and would never treat anyone how...
