We've been coming to El Gallo Giro for what seems like forever. This is one of their newer locations. Since we were in the Anaheim area we decided to check it out. We were surprisingly disappointed. We used to LOVE their carne asada. Now it tastes like it has no flavor. The tamal was ok, the Caldo de Res lacked flavor, the quesadilla and tacos de Busche were probably the best items. The burrito was just ok, the carnitas inside the burrito were on the dry side and lacked flavor. We were also disappointed that they didn't have some of our favorite agua flavors like Mango or Fresa de leche. It's one of their smaller locations but has outdoor seating. The pan dulce selection is tiny compared to some of their valley or downtown locations. Maybe we'll stick to some of the other locations and keep to select items. Also, we were mostly disappointed by the cost. I know prices are high everywhere, but these prices seems ridiculously high. Our family of 5 used to eat here for $60, today the bill came to $110. $15 for a bowl of soup with 3 small pieces of meat and root vegetables? Come on, not even Disneyland's bowl of soup is...

I totally loved it at this El Gallo Giro. I have been to many different locations but by far this has been the best experience ever. The staff was beyond nice helpful polite and knowledge. The menu is unlike many other El Gallo Giro not to mention the Super Fresh Bakery they have at this location. The horchata is not my fav but man do they know their stuff. I paid just as much as I would have at IHOP or Denny's but with a much homier feel. I would not mind returning to this location or recommending for someone to visit this location. It has a very spacious parking lot as it is in a plaza with other stores it has outdoor seating and indoor although the indoor seating is not available yet. I am not afraid to mention that I asked for restroom service and I was happy that they allow customers to use restrooms and maintain it super clean. The portion sizes are really huge so I recommend for one plate be shared amongst to but if you can eat those portion sizes all on your own go for it. To my surprise they offer breakfast lunch and...

El Gallo Giro- 3/21/2024 Time of day - Evening Carnitas Burrito and Agua de Jamaica (a la cart) Paid: $17.76 Dined-In. Wait time - 20 minutes (it was busy) Good customer service from the cashier . They are welcoming as soon as you come in. They’ll call your number , so have a seat because everything is made to order. Good presentation. Flour tortillas that taste like they were made that day. Burrito comes with choice of meat, beans, Mexican rice, onions and cilantro. Delicious. The Jamaica (Hibiscus Tea) tastes like it was brewed from the flower. Plus they have your other favorites too. (Horchata, Pineapple, Limon, etc) They also have tortas, tamales, and tacos. They have fresh pan dulces made throughout the day! Everything is good. You can’t miss coming here. Dining room was busy but plenty of available seating. They have tables on the outside as well. Restaurant was clean. Restrooms were clean. Parking lot was clean.

Will absolutely come...

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but the food quality was just not all there. I order a plate of asada and the amount of rice and beans they give you is ridiculous the portions are so small. The tortillas got so cold and hard within minutes and they were very bland. I order a caldo de res and it was more of a caldo full of fatty meat, full of carrots and cabbage and literally one small chunk of carne de res. I paid about $40 for everything only good thing was the Agua de horchata. I basically threw all my food away, my wife didn't want me to make a big deal about it. The food here is all hype and no taste or anything to back it up. Kitchen staff should do food quality control before sending out a ticket. The table behind me was even complaining on how hard the vegetables are, so unfortunate and disappointed.
