My adventure began on a quiet Sunday evening around 7:30 PM. I had a serious chocolate craving—and not just any chocolate, but the luxurious kind you only find in Dubai. I discovered TAWDI, an authentic Middle Eastern chocolate shop in Anaheim, and immediately called to see if I could swing by. My GPS said I’d arrive just one minute after they closed.
To my surprise, the gentleman on the phone was incredibly kind. He told me if I could make it by 8:10 PM, they’d wait for me. I pulled up to TAWDI right at 8:10, and there he was—holding the door open for me with a warm welcome.
Walking inside, I was blown away. The shop was bright, sparkling clean, and filled with rows of beautifully wrapped chocolates—like shimmering jewels in foil. Every shelf was a visual delight. The woman working with him (I believe his wife) greeted me like a friend. She handed me a basket and patiently walked me through what was what on the shelves.
I originally came just for the Dubai chocolates, but let’s just say... I left with way more than that.
Over the past week, I've indulged in what can only be described as the 'most incredible chocolates I've ever tasted'.
Oreos, graham crackers, ginger snaps, and biscuits all generously coated in smooth milk or white chocolate Plump dates stuffed with a rich pistachio cream and wrapped in crispy, buttery kataifi Pistachio-stuffed baklava, each bite a perfect balance of sweet and nutty And, of course, the Dubai chocolate bars—in both milk and white chocolate
I even took home a pound of espresso because I had to try some authentic middle eastern coffee with my chocolate biscuits.
If I had to choose a favorite (which is nearly impossible), it would be the white Dubai chocolate bar. The crunch of the kataifi, the decadent pistachio cream—it was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. But honestly? Every single piece felt like the best I’d ever had.
The experience wasn’t just about the chocolates, though. From the beautifully curated shop to the warmth and hospitality of the owners, I felt like I was more than just a customer—I felt like a welcomed friend
TAWDI isn’t just a chocolate shop. It’s a destination. And I can’t...

Update: 8/1/2025 The business replied to my review saying "we never claimed it was authentic or official" which is another LIE. I said to the lady working "oh you have Labubus" and she said "yes". She did not say these are non branded, unofficial and unlicensed look alike dolls. It is WILD to me that they have the audacity to reply back with anything other than an apology. They went on to say, "We kindly ask that future reviews focus on actual purchases and not make public accusations that can damage a small business over a misunderstanding." I did make a purchase and it was fraudulent merchandise and these aren't accusations, they are me sharing my experience and warning other people to not be scammed! I even was nice enough to say the chocolate was delish (bc it was) but because of their response I am lowering from 2 stars to 1 star. You are doing damage to your own small business by selling Lafufus. The boxed Lafufus were also advertised right next to out of the box real Labubus.... let the people reading this review decide if that was an "honest misunderstanding"
Original Review: The chocolate was delish but I can't support a business that sells fraudulent merchandise. When I opened, i instantly knew I was scammed. I went back to ask for a refund and they said no refunds because "they didn't say they were real" but when i said "oh wow you have labubus" the lady said "yes"... she didn't say "well we don't know if they are authentic and there wasn't a sign saying faux labubus"
the fact that the response was "well we never said they were real" shows me that they are well aware they are selling fakes. also explains why so many of the boxes were open (i picked an unopened one). Overall, it's a shame to see a business being scammy when they should really stay in their lane: chocolate.

From the moment I stepped through the door, I was in chocolate heaven! The variety of offerings at this shop are simply astounding. The ambiance of the shop adds another layer to the overall delight. The warm, inviting space is adorned with tasteful decor that complements the elegance of the chocolates.
The owner deserves special mention for her knowledge and enthusiasm. She was so helpful and eager to recommend chocolates i should try. I picked the the chocolate with roasted almonds and the chocolate wafers, DELICIOUS!! The prices are good and the quality is off the charts! This is not your average chocolate, you really can taste the difference from the commercial chocolates being sold at the stores. It's evident that the chocolatiers here take pride in their work, and I think I'll be visiting often for myself and even gifting these treats. I love these local spots that offer high quality. I'm hooked!
If you're a connoisseur of fine chocolates or just someone looking to elevate their sweet tooth satisfaction, this neighborhood chocolate shop is...
