Casa Bellisima — Restaurant in Andover Township

"Went there yesterday for mine and my mothers birthday and I was blown away. The food was incredible, our server was very friendly, and the decor was very comfortable. Prices were more than reasonable considering the level of food and service you get. Can't wait to go back again. "

That was a review I left almost 4 years ago. After tonight I will never go back there again. We went there tonight for my parents to meet my fiancé's parents for the 1st time. We could've went to any place we wanted to and we chose Casa Bellisima. We drove from Wayne to Sparta to eat there. 1st issue which I can almost live with is the risotto was very crunchy to the point where it hurt my teeth. OK everything tasted fine and the rest of the meal was great. However when I told the hostess the risotto was crunchy she replied with , how did you ask for it cooked and that's how we make it here. B.S I've had it there before and it was perfect and there's only one way to cook risotto. 2nd issue and the main reason I'll never go back is after we had dessert and were drinking coffee and paid the hostess had the balls to ask us to move to the bar to continue talking to each other. So after they get a few hundred dollars from us it's pretty much get the hell off the table. I don't care if they had customers waiting or not that's their problem for not scheduling reservations properly. Both sets of parents said in all their lives they've never been asked to leave the table. Tonight they lost faithful customers. And I'll never recommend them to anyone else ever again. ...

I called Thursday to make a 6:30 reservation for last night for 4 people. A large party was leaving as we walked in. We go in and 10 minutes later a hostess finally comes out to the desk to tell us that the table will be ready in a few minutes. She disappears. There is a large party for 25-30 in one room and they are setting up for a wedding reception for about 35 more people in another room. We keep standing there. A waitress comes out and apologies and said it will be a longer wait. We go to the bar and are seated 50 minutes past the reservation time. When I made the reservation they knew they had the parties and should not sauce taken the reservation for that time and should have said make it later. The party was loud, standing giving toasts etc Very hard to have a conversation. The place should have closed for the evening for the two private parties .Not fair to other guests.

Food was underwhelming and my husband's pasta was not cooked enough. They did take off $25 of the $38 entree for the undercooked pasta. Not sure for they came up with that amount. The linguine and clam sauce was a joke and looked like regular tomato sauce with a few small clams on top. As we finished dinner and were talking the waiter kept taking things off the table reaching over us like they wanted us to leave. Guess since we aren't regulars they wanted us to go. People on first dates that were told to meet them there, be aware of dinner scam artists! M....... orders the most expensive bottle of wine , then two appetizers, the two entrees, two deserts and a brandy , all for herself!, At the entree now knowing what this now drunk woman is up to I told her I would have no problem paying for your one dinner but not two dinners that are all stacked in a shopping bag for her to go home with! Told her I see what you are up to and how dare you try to take advantage like this. You pay half OK. She said what?? I said yes you pay for your share. I do not drink. My meal was 30.00. Hers was 210.!! She ran out. Me after looking for the waitress or manager not present and in the kitchen, I tried to get her plate number but she drove away fast. So I went back in to pay the $300.00 bill. I called the restaurant and they said they did not have her phone number and it was between me and her and they had nothing to do with this theft by deception. This woman stated she eats there every week for first dates! Does not want to talk on the phone and just meet in person. Writing this so other do not get scammed as well.
