Iāve been here twice and both times had sundaes. One banana split and one caramel chocolate sundae (that is no longer offered). It seems that the idea of the shop is to match flavor with flavor, which is the culinary equivalent of rhyming a word with the same word.
My chocolate and caramel sundae was chocolate and caramel ice cream with chocolate and caramel syrup. A banana split is usually vanilla ice cream with strawberry, chocolate, and pineapple topping. Their banana split is strawberry ice cream with strawberry topping, chocolate ice cream with chocolate topping, and, I think, the pineapple topping was on vanilla. No creativity.
The spot is cozy and clean. Downtown Andover is classic Americana and this ice cream shop fits right in. The staff is friendly and I didnāt wait too long either time. While I would never request/expect this spot to go āgourmetā, it might serve them well to just Google some ice cream recipes to easily enhance flavor pairings and create some varieties on the menu.
