Crawfish Expensive and Salty
I was a really big fan when they first opened and have been trying to give them many second chances but it just hasn't changed. Cajun family and family line and was exstatic with all the new items to have in the area all cooked well.
But my favorite food is crawfish, always has been.
I tried them out again today at 1pm. I love the size of the crawfish, the cleanliness, the juice, the freshness and texture. I'd pay good money for that anyday. Although the potatoes have no flavor and the flavor of the crawfish would be absolutely amazing with that warm dark taste but the only problem is the salt. It's especially bad when they start to cool down so it tastes even stronger. You start the meal off with good flavor and spice with a good amount of salt and you end up with a mouth full of ocean.
I've brought it up with the people at the counter and my servers, multiple times. Twice my two different servers have told me that's a common comment and that they've been told but they love cooking it that way.
Again, everything else is amazing but I just feel so dehydrated and gross after. I'm going to keep coming here but it just won't be for crawfish, my...
Read moreI've been here 6 times now, and practically order the same thing each time I visit... well today I went I, there was a teen age boy and girl at the counter taking orders... I never can remember the meals name, I say it's the half fish and half shrimp meal plus a small cup of rice amd beans, the young man says we don't serve that on the weekends, I asked when did you stop serving that. He said it's during the week on the lunch menu. We'll I never eaten there for lunch, usually go after I get off from work or the weekends. Finally he showed me on the menu, I said ok, let's get that. We'll got my meal, and ever 3 minutes, they came by the table, each time a different person, and asked if everything was ok..OK... it's nice they check on you, but please not every 3 minutes. Seems like I was being rushed... the fish was crunchy, like it was recooked again. Today wasn't a pleasant experience, I will come back again next week, hopefully will be a better experience, I really enjoyed coming here, hate to see them...
Read moreAwesome! 5 stars is not enough. Great food and fantastic service. Beignets were comparable to Cafe du Monde. Areas for improvement: Fried gator portions are small (more fries in the basket than gator); however, Honore's is one of the few places that gets fried gator right. Ordering at the counter has become more common in times of Covid so I can't single out Honore's for that. However, it generally has a negative impact on the tips received by the servers/staff. When ordering at the counter one basically has to 'pre-pay' their tip which is not something that sits right with a lot of folks (myself included) in which case a cash tip (which I did leave) becomes the only option; and not a lot of people carry cash anymore. Looking forward to doing continued...
